Woke activists accused New York governor candidate Lee Zeldin of using rape to 'promote his campaign' today after he delivered a speech at the scene of an horrific sex attack in the West Village.
Screaming protesters waved boards daubed with messages which branded Zeldin 'as dangerous as Trump' as they disrupted the campaign event on Friday.
Zeldin, who’s vying to replace New York’s Democrat governor Kathy Hochul, delivered a speech at the riverside location where a woman was choked, raped and robbed a day earlier.
Outrage over the attack grew after it emerged the suspect, homeless man Carl Phanor, has 25 prior arrests and was also wanted for at least two other sex crimes in the city.
Phanor’s criminal past prompted furious questions about why he was free to prowl the streets and allegedly launch the attack.
But some anti-Zeldin protesters were incensed by his decision to campaign at the scene.
One shouted 'there is no crime emergency here' and held aloft a board with the words: 'Zeldin uses rape to promote his campaign'.
'There is a hate emergency, there is a bigotry emergency,' the protester shouted.

Once again the left uses one of their textbook tactics.
Instead of proving how their policies are accomplishing stopping crimes they try to put Zeldin on the defensive by slinging accusations at him.
The same thing has been done against Herschel Walker amd Kyrie Irving as well.
Instead of the going after Amazon over a film/documentary being peddled by them (given they are hawking/selling it), they instead go after Irving, who though he has no comment below it even, peddled the same thing and they hit with name-calling.
Instead of proving that Walker paid for abortions by proving the money went to certain providers they make mere claims instead.

I don’t get it. Democrats use crimes for campaigning all the time. So, this candidate using it to campaign with should have received the sam courtesy. Radical militant Leftists who are crime advocates are just out of control.
As Governor Hochul would say, why would you be concerned about that?
The victim - and other victims throughout New York - disagree.
They demand gun control with every mass shooting somewhere.
