When I grew up in Rockland County, NY my dad was a Republican Committeeman. One of sleazier stunts the Dems pulled was on Election Day, bright and early they'd hire medical transport vans to pick up the residents at the local nursing homes to take them to the polling places, with the promise of a "free" lunch afterwards. Of course on route they'd hand the old folks lists of THEIR candidates (nod wink wink). They've come a looong way from those days.
Maybe we should consider going back to the old lever actuated voting machines? Surely with the technology today they can be made more tamper proof than what we have now

Good story.

I used to relate the one here (now I can’t remember the year of the Prez election) about GOP guys going to various polling places. They saw a small group of obviously mentally and physically challenged adults being guided in by men who had a white van.

Then the GOP watchers saw it again but were not sure and a
third time and this time they confronted them and it turned out Dems were telling them they would go in and vote Dem with them.

GOP guy asked one man if he knew what he was there to do.

“They told me I could go in there and my mother would be there.” So sad.
