Comedian and HBO late-night host Bill Maher lamented over the weekend that President Biden’s recent rhetoric and embrace of far-left policies have made it increasingly more difficult to "convince" Democrat centrists that their views still align with the party.
In a Sunday interview on CNN’s "Fareed Zakaria GPS," Maher predicted a sweeping victory for Republicans in Tuesday’s midterm elections, suggesting that Biden’s efforts to appease the far-left progressive wing of the Democrat Party could be what costs them critical congressional seats.
Maher pointed to Biden’s interview last month with a transgender TikTok activist, during which the president said it is "wrong" for states to ban gender-affirming health care. His comments came shortly after the administration released a series of documents that encouraged gender-reassignment surgery and hormone treatments for minors.

Another word for Democrat centrist is RINO.
Maher is correct, but he is guilty of sickening attacks on Republicans ... for a laugh. just like his friend Stephen Colbert.
I just an interview with Bill Maher a couple of days ago. He was flying his Trump Derangement Syndrome flag up high for everyone to see. He said that “the army of election deniers” about to be elected Trump is planning to launch a coup. He said that on Inauguration Day 2025, even if he loses Trump will show up with his armed troops, just like January 6th, and just seize control of the country.
Maher makes sense once in a while with his assessment of the overwokeness of the Media-Dem Party but he is at heart a Blueanon Anti-Trumper and America hating leftwinger.
It sure does take stark examples to get through to Dems, for sure. We probably all know level headed people who lead normal lives with normal beliefs, but they will vote Dem come heck or high water. Another head scratcher.

There is no such thing as a “Centrist” democrat.
They are Republicans who for whatever reason (family history, union history, etc) just can’t bring themselves to vote for anything else yet....
Democrats ran the centrists out back in the 90s.... just a lot of their base hasn’t figured that out yet.
But they will vote Communist Party anyway.
Yo Bill. Show me the Democrats who stood up to and voted against Biden and his policies. You can’t even count Manchin now that he caved. Each and everyone of the Democrats, both locally and federally, went along with all of the policies and all of the executive orders of this administration. All of which has put this country in a tailspin of destruction, the likes of which we have never seen politics.
As such, each and every Democrat needs to be voted out of office. Not because they are Democrats, but because the pain and destruction they’ve caused . . .
Bill Maher is an old school liberal who still wants to vote Democrat and doesn’t understand why his party won’t go back to being old-school Democrat. He will be perpetually frustrated. But he won’t pull the trigger and vote Republican, because he has an irrational, emotional belief that Republicans are evil. There are a lot of people like him - Dershowitz is another one. Hell, my father is another one. He is 80 and talks like a Republican but thinks Republicans are evil. He was brought up in the 50s and 60s in a Kennedy-worshiping Catholic family who thought Catholics had to vote Democrat.

Pandering? His policies are radical Marxist policies....Families are getting pummeled. When going food shopping then getting gas has literally doubled or tripled in cost, then we have a problem.

A little bit missed here.
The left has been pandering to get votes for over a century. Everything they supply to their base is contributory to the destruction of democracy and the control of dictatorship...theirs.
But let’s take it down to reality. The left has aligned themselves finally with enough anti-social ideologies and has tried to cram people into the base that know almost nothing but what they are told by the left. Plus through decades of change to it, they are now stepping on that base to continue their carnage to protect themselves.
And while they are doing it with no remorse or hardly any concern, they are running out of things to pander with. The well is about to run dry even for this country. Thus as the basics of food, shelter, and a path to nirvana disappears, their base is feeling the pain and is asking why. And when the left doesn’t have an answer except blame the right, that got old too because almost every dog will bite when it is cornered. And a really hungry one will go for the throat.

Maher's biggest problem is he thinks Biden's kink, creepy, WOKE sexually mutilate children party is not the real democrat party. He's wrong. That IS the real party. It's not the one dems run on because who would vote for that crap. But it is who they are.
Maher feels the 'real' democrat party is the one he knew from the 60's and 70's - it's not. Or maybe he hopes it can get back to his idea of the real party. Unlikely.

I know so many southern Democrats just like this...my own later Grandmother was the same way...she was a JFK-Democrat, and refused until she died to vote for anything else...of course, now that she is dead, she ONLY VOTES Demoncrat!!
