A 'Last Minute Change' Is Already Delaying Vote Counting in Philadelphia

Within hours of polls opening in Pennsylvania Tuesday morning, a "last minute change" is already causing vote count delays in notoriously corrupt Philadelphia. Before the change this morning, votes in the city were expected to be fully counted by Wednesday morning.

From the Philadelphia Inquirer

City officials voted Tuesday morning — as polling places opened and the vote count began for the midterm elections — to reinstate a time consuming and labor-intensive process for catching double votes that will slow how quickly they can report results.

If Pennsylvania’s high-stakes U.S. Senate race is as close as expected, a wait for results out of the state’s largest city is sure to shine a national spotlight on Philadelphia, similar to after the 2020 presidential election.

The city commissioners, the three-member elections board, voted 2-1 to reinstate what is known as poll book reconciliation — a means of flagging mail ballots submitted by voters who also voted in person — during an emergency 7 a.m. meeting.

It was a sudden reversal of a decision they made less than a week ago and came a day after a city judge, responding to a Republican lawsuit, said they could move forward without the process.

Last week Pennsylvania Acting Secretary of State Leigh Chapman warned votes would not be fully counted on Election Day.

"We will not have official returns on Election Night," Chapman said in an interview with NBC News. "My goal as Acting Secretary of State is to make sure we are educating voters, the public and the media just about how the voting process works in Pennsylvania, how vote counting takes time and because of the restrictions we have with our state law, we will not have official returns on Election Night...election workers in our 67 counties can only start opening ballots at 7 am on Election Day...starting at 8 p.m. when the polls close, that's when the counties can release the results. So it takes time. We are not like other states that have weeks to pre-canvas."

During Monday's briefing at the White House, Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre echoed Chapman's sentiments.

Late Monday night, the Fetterman campaign issued a lawsuit in an attempt to have undated mail-in ballots counted, despite the Pennsylvania Supreme Court recently ruling they cannot be counted.

The Dems are “in your face” about their cheating. We are a banana republic when it comes to the franchise.

When Fetterman remarked that the vote count would be delayed, that meant he won his election.

We already can figure out that this whole election will be a farce. Last time I vote because this is no longer America. No point in thinking we can save this country.

flagging mail ballots submitted by voters who also voted in person

Of course they should be doing this. Why the objection?

The problem is they can't do it efficiently.

Consider Pennsylvania, with its crucial Senate contest between Mehmet Oz and The Creature Who Answers to the Name John Fetterman. Two years ago, Pennsylvania’s election process probably featured more red flags than any other closely contested state. The state took a whole week to count its votes, with Biden only overtaking Trump’s large election-night lead on Friday morning. Pennsylvania let votes count even if they arrived after Election Day, even if they had no postmark, and even if they didn’t have a matching signature. Twenty Pennsylvania counties used millions of dollars donated by Mark Zuckerberg to finance their election activities, including the famous unsupervised “Zuckerboxes,” which made it virtually impossible to enforce the state’s relatively strict limits on ballot harvesting. When Trump supporters tried to independently monitor drop boxes, state attorney general Josh Shapiro (now running for governor) threatened them with prosecution.

So, what are things like two years later? Pennsylvania’s Republican legislature passed bills to ensure signature verification and photo ID, and to ensure proper poll-watching… but Democratic governor Tom Wolf vetoed those bills. So in Pennsylvania this cycle, things are substantially like they were two years ago. And, yep, the state is even warning that it’s going to take a long time to count ballots again.

So we accept the steak and get on with our lives? Do you believe that’s even possible? It’s sad to say but if elections no longer matter then we have drastic decisions to make.

The election officials have to go through ballots by hand to make sure nobody who voted by mail also shows up to vote on Election Day.

That seems to violate this SCOTUS ruling -

The counts MUST be delayed! By last second judge ruling, broken machines, or machines reading incorrectly. Whatever it takes to ensure that the counting goes on through the night, so that the dems can do their infamous early morning vote dumps.

Well yes we do. How many more stolen elections will it take to see that voting is no longer an option? These people will steal seats that they need to keep themselves in power all the time now.

Yet we keep blaming ourselves and infighting while they laugh at us because they know we can’t beat their cheat.

Maybe we can win someday Pa if we quit doing things wrong. That is us. We have become stupid victims who won’t fight back. It is sickening.
