No excuses, Republicans. Everyone thought you had just about the ideal issue environment for a midterm election, and the exit polls verified it. Seven in ten Americans said they were “dissatisfied” or “angry” about the state of the country. Around three-quarters of voters nationally characterized the state of the economy as “poor” or “not good,” and the same amount said that inflation has caused them severe or moderate hardship. About two-thirds said that gas prices have been causing them hardship. You had parents livid about the learning loss in schools because of the long closures for Covid-19 and inappropriate materials in the curriculum. You had an unpopular president, who was such a liability that Democrats couldn’t let him go anywhere near a swing state.
And the nation, deeply dissatisfied with the way the Democrats were running things, looked at what the GOP offered as the alternative and concluded, “Nope, I’ll stick with what the Democrats are giving me” in a lot of key places.
If you can’t elect a lot of Republicans in an environment like this, when can you?
I don’t ever want to hear another Republican claim he stands for the silent majority. As I warned in September, if your silent majority doesn’t show up to vote in large numbers, it doesn’t have that much say in how this country is governed. We could even argue that a silent majority that doesn’t vote might as well not exist at all.

We are waiting on Lake in AZ, but the strategy of running rookies against incumbents failed spectacularly. JD Vance was the lone exception. I heard KellyAnne Conway on Fox talking about this last night. Want to have a big night in 2024, dump Trump, run Desantis and look for experienced candidates who know how to win. Or run Trump and pick some more TV stars as candidates and lose again. Winners get the bang the prom queen, and it’s about winning. Take your principles and shove them. This is not checkers folks or the London Debate Society.

You’re 100% right. I also believe that more than half of the RATS who voted yesterday actually thought it was a presidential election and Trump was running against Biden. Yes, they are actually that stupid.
I had a discussion this AM with some Democrats and they said it was about abortion. I suggested something very Swiftian...build and support 1000's of Planned pArenthoods in the black community. I mean one on every block and cash bounties for abortions for Black children. Provide free transportation to and from. I got 10 seconds of silence and I could hear the cranial pressure rising about how tenuous and stupid their baby-killing beliefs conflicted with the CRT infected brains. I said two problems solved, you get you tax paid abortions and infant killing and you get to really make a change in the black community. By empowering Black women.
I say we revoke the 19th amendment and USA is saved. Women lack the capacity to act logically.

We saw a transparently stolen election in 2020. GOP never reacted to it. Little was done to make sure it wouldn’t be repeated, they just kept saying “we’ll really get them next time!”.
In Florida, where the elections are relatively straight-forward, even Dem districts went Repub. Granted that DeSantis is an excellent governor with strong coat-tails, but I can’t help thinking that transparent elections had a lot to do with it.
