Lake closes in on Hobbs as race for Arizona Governor tightens

It’s been a contentious and, at times, a controversial battle between Republican Kari Lake and Democrat Katie Hobbs to become Arizona’s next governor, and no clear winner was projected on Election Night. As of Wednesday morning, the race remains quite close, Hobbs was up 51% to 49%, with 62% of expected votes counted. CBS News said the race had moved from toss-up to “leans Democrat.” Still, early voting trends often benefit the Democrats, who are statistically more likely to vote early or submit absentee ballots.

At 5:30 a.m., Hobbs carried an approximate 30,000 vote lead over Lake, but by 7:15 a.m, it shrunk even more. Latest election returns have Hobbs at a 10,000-vote lead, an immense loss from the over 100,000-vote lead she had late Tuesday night.

Lake was optimistic when she addressed supporters at the GOP Headquarters in Scottsdale. “We are going to win this,” Lake confidently said. She pointed to when she was down double digits early on in the August primary to Karrin Taylor Robson and eventually won. “If we have to, we’ll take this fight through, we will, even if it takes hours or days,” Lake said.

Arizona Republicans voted overwhelmingly in-person, so it's very possible if not probable for Lake to win as the votes continue to be counted.

Let’s just hope Kari defeats Hobbs.

It would be nice to know how many outstanding votes are out there and at what win percentage would lake need to overcome the deficient.

If Lake loses, blame the Maricopa county glitch. I’m sure it was just accidental.

Friday night is the game plan for Maricopa County to let go of the results IMHO and I expect a five point win for Kari and that should bring Masters over by one or two points to win the Senate seat.

I can’t imagine anyone in their right mind voting for the weak, cowardly little-girl-voiced Hobbs over someone like Lake...

Is there anyone else who thought it was somewhat suspicious that Hobbs is the Secretary of State for AZ, who is IN CHARGE OF COUNTING THE VOTE? Am I being a little too paranoid?

Except Hobbs will probably be “neutered” by the state legislature. And expect a Mecham-style recall.

When you have a state that lets the SOS (responsible for elections) present herself as the leading candidate for one party without having to recuse herself from her duties...you know you’re in trouble.

But the people involved in the specific Maricopa County problems seem both to have been GOPers, and they were obviously just as stupid and inefficient as they were in 2020. There had been problems in that county in 2020, and both of them resisted election audits and investigations. So nothing was ever corrected.

Heck, if counties in other states ran out of printer paper, we can see how poorly our elections are being run.

Florida has done a huge amount to rectify its procedures, particularly since DeSantis has taken over and literally fired some of the people formerly in charge.

Other states need to do this, regardless of party.

That is because they didn’t. The machine did.

What happened in the primary when this scenario played out as the RINO’s like Cheney and Pence had their candidate opposing Kari Lake.

The vote held back especially in the big county Maricopa.

Can’t give Trump a victory when the public is watching do it Friday when everyone is shopping, going out to eat.

So stay tuned the vote will roll out Friday like it did for the primary election.

NO-—YOU ARE CORRECT...

IT IS A COMPLETE CONFLICT OF INTEREST——

She should have resigned her Sec of State position before she ran for Gov.

IF Hobbs wins, I will NEVER accept the vote count.

AZ officials just said there are 400,000 ‘dropped off’ votes they have yet to count. Will take days.

There were 7,000 provisional ballots.

Charlie Kirk said the drop off will go 70% to Lake. Not sure that’ll get us the Senate seat.

Funny how the glitches and irregularities always benefit the Democrats. They defy statistical probabilities.

I sure as hell hope Lake does for Arizona what Desantis did for Floriday. Get more republicans in positions of power, clean up the election system, and make Arizona a place for conservatives to flock to.

Desantis did it by NOT playing with the dims. I hope Lake is merciless on the dims like Desantis.

A lot of hard work was done state wide in Az

Some of it was literally historic.

I am guardedly optimistic that the hard work has paid off and we will beat the steal and Lake, Masters, Finchem and Abe are going to beat the steal assuming we are able to shut down the Democrat post election ground game

Time to support our people and stop beating ourselves up

We were let down by Ducey and Bronovich who failed to follow Gov Desantis and reign in the Maricopa County Hobbs vote manipulation machine and Richters collusion

Under Az law there was only so much Citizens can do proactively to prevent the machine garbage we saw. It was desperate, audacious and in your face l

Time to double down and really push back against the Maricopa County machine and refuse to let them replicate the 2020 post election ground game

I

When Biden and other leftists said the election may take days to know the outcome, they didn’t mean to know if any Republicans won.
