The GOP had a couple of bad candidates at the top of the ticket, and they had them, in part, because of Trump.

It amazes me how folks focus on the 16, and forget about
the over 200.

Very telling...

The failure was the PA Legislature not addressing the wide spread mail-in ballot infrastructure that they enabled in 2020... and we know is susceptible to fraud.

Seriously... does anyone think there were more Biden voters in Philly and Pittsburgh during 2020... than Obama voters in the same places in 2008.

This is on the handwringers and pearl clutchers.

I agree, Oz was a bad choice. Now when are we going to see some articles written about the successes?

Shapiro outspent Mastriano something to the effect of 50:1. Money came from all over the country to make sure he won, he's being groomed for higher office, maybe as a presidential candidate.

The fact is the GOP gave Pennsylvania to the Democrats this cycle, leaving aside all other issues.

Mastriano endorsement wasn’t weeks before it was 3 days before and he already had a comfortable lead.

I can’t imagine why Salena Zito of all people would think McCormick had a chance in hell of winning a statewide election in Pennsylvania.

I think we held on to the State Legislature.

I agree totally with you. Trump should have stayed out of Pennsylvania politics. He knows nothing about them. And his last appearance was in Latrobe, PA where he spent the entire rally promoting himself and showing polls of him beating Biden. Yesterday’s news, by the way, and irrelevant today. I’d say Pennsylvanians are tired of Trump. McCormick would have beaten Fetterman. He was the kind of moderate Republican who can win in Pennsylvania.

Instead, Trump butted in and screwed everything up by pushing a t.v. personality who is a personal friend. Pennsylvanians don’t like to be treated like stooges. So, the results of the election were, in part, repudiations of him foisting duds on us—a carpetbagger from New York and New Jersey and a lackluster candidate who actually claimed he was chosen by the Almighty to be governor and urged his supporters to pray and fast for 40 days.

Now we’re stuck with a Democratic governor and two Democrat senators. No effort will be made to clean up the corruption because the Republicans in the legislature are dumb.

This had nothing to do with Trump.
He chose Mastriano aide the other too candidate Lou Bartletta was an even lousier candidate then Mastriano
As for the senate Barnette is a wacko and would have spent the entire campaign defining the names she called Obama
Dave McCormick was a very good candidate but Trump chose Oz side cause he’s friends with Trump and Oz stood by him in 2016 and 2020.
The GOP in PA is as US Chamber of Commerce and establishment as it gets and is very backwards thinking

According to Zito, the coup de grace was Trump’s GOTV effort that may have energized Democrat voters more than it did Republicans:

[Trump’s rally in Pennsylvania the Saturday before the election, and his signaled intention to announce another presidential bid later this month, may have done more damage than anyone knew. ]

Abortion may have caused Mastriano to underperform Oz by 5 points.

https://www.cnn.com/politics/live-news/midterm-election-results-livestream-voting-11-08-2022/h_699c5119bda0136d831b855919299e1b
[For voters who thought that abortion was the most important issue, more than three quarters supported Fetterman. They made up just over one-third of the electorate.

But among those who said inflation was the most pressing issue, more than three-quarters cast ballots for Oz. They made up more than a quarter of the electorate.]

McCormick was a much better choice than Oz. McCormick’s wife was a senior adviser to Trump. Unfortunately, Trump chose the more well known but much weaker candidate, Oz.

No. The shadow of mail in ballots and ballot harvesting is the shadow. Weak and feckless GOPE dopes allowed the steal to happen again.

Pennsylvania voted for a brain damaged senator only because he was a democrat. New york city voted for AOC only because she is a democrat. Massachusetts votes for Bernie Sanders only because he’s a democrat. We have a demented pedophile as president only because he’s a democrat. You can’t fix stupid.

Nothing changed in PA re: fraud in 2020. The result? The Zombie got nearly a million mail in votes to 200K for Dr. Odd. The difference was more than enough to win.

Penn. and the Dems seem to have cheating down to a science. No way anyone votes for fetterman(the man)... doesn’t anybody remember how biden “won” the Dem nomination in 2020? Wasn’t the ridiculous ballot counting and delays in Iowa just a test run for the technique of meddling with counting the ballots. No one really knows where any of the votes came from. Supposedly buttigieg won...sanders 2nd. How did Biden lose first 3 primaries , then miraculously win almost all of them all after?...Sanders challenged the results of Iowa with no reported resolution to the challenge.....hmmmmmm..very fishy...just sayin’....

Yes, but that is not the elephant in the room.

The two states (Texas and Florida) that were the most serious about securing their elections saw tremendous growth in the margin of victory for republicans.

Cities like Detroit, Philadelphia, New York, Chicago and others have always been hotbeds of fraud. Now it has moved into Phoenix and Atlanta.

Desantis pushed it out of Miami. Abbot made it a lot harder to pull off in Dallas and Houston.

Trump had nothing to do with Mastriano's rise as the Republican nominee. Doug made his name and reputation in small town Pennsylvania by standing up against the Wolf regime during COVID, fighting to keep small businesses open, leading the anti-lockdown rallies in Harrisburg, and conducting nightly "fireside chats" on social media in 2020 to keep folks fully apprised about what was going on.

These Monday morning quarterbacks still don't understand Mastriano, and why he had so much grassroots support to carry the nomination by himself, with Trump coming in at the end (after quietly backing Jake Corman) and jumping in front of his parade just a week before the primary to try and claim credit. Mastriano's grassroots support had NOTHING to to with Trump and everything to do with fighting Wolf, Shapiro, and Levine during the dark days of 2020 and 2021.

Doug' slogan "Walk as Free People" truly resonated in central PA, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Democrat cheating machine, with over a MILLION mail-in ballots cast. Seriously?
