Briahna Joy Gray, who previously served as a press secretary for Senator Bernie Sanders’s 2020 presidential campaign, on Friday claimed President Biden baited young voters with a “faulty” student-loan forgiveness order.
“They used the promise of student debt cancellation to induce young voter turn out — knowing it wasn’t going anywhere bc they relied on faulty legal authority,” she wrote in a tweet. “Hard to convince me the Biden admin didn’t do this intentionally.”
A federal judge in Texas on Thursday blocked Biden’s student-loan “forgiveness” plan in response to a lawsuit from the Job Creators Network Foundation (JCNF).
Judge Mark Pittman of the Northern District of Texas called the plan an “unconstitutional exercise of Congress’s legislative power” and noted the program failed to go through standard regulatory processes.
“No one can plausibly deny that it is either one of the largest delegations of legislative power to the executive branch, or one of the largest exercises of legislative power without congressional authority in the history of the United States,” Pittman wrote in a 26-page opinion.

I know senator biden passed the law making it impossible to declare bankruptcy on a student loan but what would be the impact if congress made a new law allowing it?
They need to get the government OUT of the student loan business , guaranteeing this money just allows Schools to charge ever higher tuition fees. I’ve noticed even liberals don’t complain about their friends in academia fleecing students , they just want them to get free money from the tax payer
I’ve heard people suggest that the schools should handle the loans so they’d be on the hook for non-payment , but I’m hardly an expert on such a thing so I don’t even know if it would feasible for most colleges
I would love to see that happen. Even if they were all pink haired commies with useless degrees I think I’d donate some money to their cause.

We need to do away with EOs. Period. EO’s should never have been used to replace lawmakers and the process for bills in Congress.
I worked the polls at a precinct near a college. There were 607 voters, 75% were college students. They were definitely interested in getting their college loans paid off in FULL.
EO’s, administrative law judges, policy by senior bureaucrats are there to provide cover for Congress!
