At least two dead after Russian missiles land in NATO state Poland on Ukraine border

Two people have been killed in Poland after two stray Russian rockets landed near the border with Ukraine. The rockets landed in the NATO state following Russia's mass bombardment of Ukrainian cities earlier today, which saw over 100 rockets launched.

According to the AP news agency, a senior US intelligence official said that the missiles were of Russian origin. Poland's Prime Minister, Mateusz Morawiecki, has convened the Committee of the Council of Ministers for National Security and Defense Affairs "as a matter of urgency", government spokesman Piotr Müller confirmed, with local news sites claiming this is likely the result of the explosions. The meeting will reportedly take place at 9pm local time (8pm British time).

Russia has denied not only the missiles hitting Poland, but any rocket strikes near the border at all - despite mass explosions hitting cities near the border just hours earlier. *** The attack could prompt Poland to trigger NATO's Article 5 provisions, calling on all of the treaty's members to attack Russia. According to Article 5, an attack against one NATO Ally is considered an attack against all Allies. However, Russia's Ministry of Defence were quick to deny the missile strike, instead claiming that the reports were a "deliberate provocation".

They went on to claim the "no strikes were made against targets near the Ukrainian-Polish state border by Russian weapons" - despite the multiple missile strikes hitting Lviv, a Ukrainian city about 62 miles south of Przewodów and only 50 miles from the Ukrainian border, just hours earlier today. ***

Who gains?

Not Russia.

False-flag gains for Z-man.

I agree. Who blew up the pipeline. Amazing how quickly the media buried the investigation.

The title and first sentence says the missiles were Russian.

But the journalist cites no evidence whatsoever establishing this.

Must be fun to just make stuff up as a journalist and throw it out there as if it was an ironclad fact.

Ukraine has anti-air missiles, including systems recently activated that it has never used before from new European donors.

Is there any possibility the missiles could be anti-air missiles gone astray? Many have before.

But the journalist rules this out totally, no need for investigation, just make crap up and be totally confident it is true.

Correct.

An incident like this shows just how quickly things can be blown out of proportion — in the absence of real facts.

Very dangerous times we’re in. We’re one mistake away from catastrophe.

50 miles away would be quite a “misfire.” Especially for TWO missles.

Stop pretending to be ignorant. You are usually better than this.

The location of the hits were in line with an electric plant right over the border during a barrage of missiles.

It was a little high and outside (A baseball reference. Do they have baseball in Russia?). And another example of their fine weaponry. They are in such sad shape they use antiaircraft missiles for GTG missiles.

Russia needs to apologize and get on with their humanitarian cleansing.

NATO is not going to war over this. But they will bring their missile defense right up to the borders. Which is Xs toy what Putin was whining about before the war.
