First, predicting the landscape 2 years out, never mind 6 years out is impossible. In 2019, who could have predicted the catastrophe of 2020.
If Trump is the one and only, where was the red wave? If Trump’s endorsements had produced a result similar to the 2010 election gains, then there might be a basis for such devotion to a candidate.
And as to “tone deaf”, Trump’s odd Truth Social attacks on both DeSantis and Youngkin *prior* to the mid-term election shows a lack of judgement and self-control. Perhaps a lack of self-control that has grown with age; “we become more like ourselves as we grow older”.
