During the most recent Ice Age the sea levels were about 400 ft lower. The Ice Age lasted 60,000 years. Geologically….the ice age is recent, and we are still moving out of it. It’s going to get warmer.

That Ice Age has NOT ended!

Technically speaking we are still in an Ice Age. (Ice age is an inaccurate term!).

The geologic age we are in is called the Quaternary - 2.58 million years ago to the present. The Quaternary is an age defined by cyclic continental glaciations (Ice Ages!). The last major glaciation ended say 20,000 years ago. We have been in a warming lull. Yes indeedy it got warmer!! We built civilization. Yay us! During that lull it’s had ups - then the great past civilizations happened, Sumerian, the Classical Age, the Medieval warming Period to name a few; and downs, Bronze age collapse, 6th Century collapse (536 AD year of darkness), Dark Ages, the Little Ice Age (about 1300 to about 1850.)

The cycle will go against us at some point. We didn’t cause it and their nothing we can do to stop it.

For those who don’t believe me! (Yes its Wikipedia but it’s not too bad here!)
