White House defends decision on easing Venezuela sanctions for oil Monday

After the White House claimed that U.S. oil producers have "plenty of opportunities" to drill domestically, some executives are slamming the administration’s "completely inaccurate," "flat-out lie."

"We've basically tracked about 125 specific actions that this administration and the Democratic Congress have done to slow down or stop oil production in America," American Energy Alliance President Tom Pyle said on "Varney & Co." Tuesday. "He has an 'America last' energy policy."

When asked by Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy why President Biden "would rather let U.S. companies drill for oil in Venezuela than here in the U.S." Monday, NSC Strategic Communication Coordinator John Kirby defended easing oil sanctions against Venezuela, saying that there are plenty of untapped opportunities for companies to drill in the United States.

On Saturday, the Treasury Department announced its decision to allow California-based Chevron to resume "limited" energy production in Venezuela after years of sanctions that have dramatically curtailed oil and gas profits that have flowed to Maduro’s government.

It’s ok he can flat out lie because the media will just nod their heads and say it’s fact checked.

instead of a railroad strike, we need an oil strike.

There is a commitment by Biden and just about all democrats, that the U.S. does not need to lead the world and wont lead the world.

China and a lot of other anti-American countries are being given the chance to catch and pass the U.S. with their economies and military.

China has taken the cue, and Biden and democrats are making sure that the U.S. is not the great economic power it used to be, nor will the U.S. be allowed to remain the military power that it used to be.

Our enemies have friends within the U.S., and most of them are members of the democrat party, including the president who appears to have been compromised and can’t and wont take charge in helping the U.S. in remaining the leading world power

One can only conclude that is more profitable personally for Joe Biden to produce oil in Venezuela, that to have American Companies produce American oil and gas.

To think that barely three years ago the US was energy independent and now we are begging potentates and shoring up repressive regimes to get oil. Doesn’t the American public see what Biden is doing? I hope those supposed 81 million Biden voters are shivering in their darkened homes this winter and can’t afford to fill their car with gas or due to strain on the electric grid can’t charge their EV either.

I is too difficult to launder money to the Biden Klan with US energy development. I guarantee there is Biden stank on this Venezuela deal. And Mitch, or Romney, and all the usual disgusting crooks.

I have no doubt that this Criminal Administration has done immense damage to our energy production capabilities.

However, I’ve watched two different interviews were an “oil executive” was specifically asked about the Administrations claim of 9000 unused oil leases. In both cases, they completely ignored the question and went on to other issues.

There may be valid reasons why these leases are unusable. But, completely ignoring the question and not provided some rebuttal to the administrations claims, seriously undermined their credibility and leaves the Administrations claims unchallenged.

Reminds me of odious California Gov. Newsom recently blaming the oil companies for the highest gas prices in the nation - recently over $1.00, as high as $2.00 more per gallon than any other state.

Oil companies shot back that anti-oil policies from Newsom himself are the cause of high gas prices in California.

Yesterday I did see gas under $4.00 for the first time in months.

Nice to see them grow a pair. Sorry, Biden has been trashing them with lies for years now and their response has been nil.

Biden and chaos crew strike again pay Venezuela for oil and don’t use cleaner oil we have here for free.

It’s the reason they are always in the dark they have their head up their ass.

Oil drilling should only be done on land, IMHO. Drilling in the gulf will lead to another BP-type catastrophe which will only empower the crazies and hasten the move away from fossil fuels.

I researched those leases. Lot of them are tied up in state red tape by counties, cities or Eco/Climate change groups, Sierra etc. Also, in ones that can drill w/o red tape, they have supply issues to start up, labor shortage etc. You can’t just start up a drill site after its been shut down for years.

Yes, they should be calling Biden out on those 9K available drilling leases.
