The head of Morgan Stanley (MS) - Get Free Report has been heaping some very heavy praise on Elon Musk -- at the Reuters Next forum in New York on Dec. 1, chief executive James Gorman called the Tesla (TSLA) - Get Free Report founder who recently acquired Twitter (TWTR) - Get Free Report for $44 billion "an extraordinary executive."
"Who would not want to do business with a person who has that kind of capability?" Gorman said as first reported by Bloomberg, referring to Musk's leadership of Tesla and SpaceX. "Shame on an institution who'd walk away from that."
Gorman, who has been leading the investment firm since 2012, encouraged investors not to give up on Twitter after Musk's mass firings and frequent online spats led to an exodus of both high-profile users and advertisers.
"I wouldn't bet against Elon Musk," Morgan said while bringing up a past visit to the Tesla factory and comparing Musk to Steve Jobs and Bill Gates.
Even before Gorman's comments, the phrasing "betting against Elon Musk" has become a talking point among those against Musk's profit-driven and "hardcore" leadership style and those criticizing the crackdown.
But the debate also boils down to whether unconventional leadership that led Tesla and SpaceX to their success and helped Musk skyrocket his wealth will work for a social media platform that has been around for years and relies on advertisers as well as content from users.

All Jobs did when he was kicked out of Apple as to go found yet another high end workstation company called NeXT Computer which didn't go anywhere and wwas eventually bought by Apple, plus plus Pixar, none of which even come close to SpaceX or Tesla.
Rat Party Headquarters has declared a jihad against Musk. Given that they control the Department of Just Us,the IRS,the press I wouldn’t bet a nickel against the Rats.
Instead, they will have him killed.
He's sticking his thumb in the eye of the biggest, most powerful cabal of corrupt individuals and organizations in the history of the world.
At his present rate, I would say the odds are 50/50 for him surviving to the end of 2024, and worse as time goes on. There's even a decent chance someone will take him out in 2023 -- his lifestyle is not one of attention to personal security (lone-wolf activities, oddball girlfriends, etc.).
Actually, most of the super powerful in Silicon Valley and finance are backing him right now.

Now why don't YOU try it and see what happens to you? But make your will before you try it, Mister Clown. Musk has an arm of super bad ass bodyguards who will be happy to send you to meet your ancestors in hell.
You far left crazies never fail to amuse.
Chuckle.

I'm assuming you're addressing somebody else. I've been a major fan of Musk since before he was well known, initially for his technical achievements, and then later for his fierce libertarian idealism expressed in real-world actions.
I certainly wish the man no harm, indeed I pray for his safety and continued success. But I'm a realist, and the man is going up against a formidable array of powerful, dedicated evil-doers.
He is the David in this battle with the Goliath of global corruption, greed, and perversity. I sincerely hope he continues to triumph over the forces of evil, and to live long enough that he punches some serious, ideally fatal, holes in their structures.
