A good friend who is a diver tells me that

1) Lionfish are very bad for Western Hemisphere reefs. They are invasive and aggressive.

2) Lionfish is quite tasty ...

The coral reefs of Florida are what remain in the ocean from the millions of years prior complete ocean coverage of what became the land mass of Florida. Which is limestone and karst formations.

The beaches of Florida are composed of the eons of ground down to fine particles-— of dead coral reef. This is provable by the ability to find fossilized SHARK teeth in the fresh water springs runs throughout the state. Shark teeth in the sands of the spring and river runs, and uh... mastodons and a whole lot else.

These bozos don’t know one thing about our very long natural history of... the “planet”. Stupid really.

And,when diving the reefs one can hear the parrot fish chomping on coral. It’s what they do— eat living coral, and the coral grows more.

I was diving Aus in ‘96.
Conditions are just fine and I hear they are still just fine.

Bali and Cozumel is were all the damage is.
Cozumel....reefs covered by sand from Hurricanes.
Bali....dynamite fishing has destroyed all their reefs.

I guess the Great Barrier Reef demise prediction was a flop so they have to invent a new fishy crisis.

Good for you! This stuff is either fund raising or pushing the hoax of climate change.

Never believe most of what is sold as news.

Other forms of coral less prone to the problems mentioned will start to replace the more vulnerable corals, wich is what has been happening in the great coral reefs off Australia.

Isn’t the Great Barrier Reef supposed to be gone by now according to 90’s news stories.

University of Miami Rosenstiel School of Marine, Earth and Atmospheric Science had to hurry to get this published and the grant check cashed before the scam becomes too obvious. The Great Barrier Reef recovery is starting to blow the deal.

Coral reefs are not forever, they break down, they are rebuilt elsewhere. Are they not the skeletal remains?

Iirc, parrotfish chew up coral, making sand the beach goers love.

Solution: kill all parrotfish and beach goers.

They are now saying that coral bleaching is a natural process which occurs cyclically.
Apparently does not hurt coral at all!

“The Great Barrier Reef is experiencing incredible growth”

We must be seeing reef discrimination or someone is full of reefshit?
