Why would the RNC want a Dem for their top spot? Sometimes I think I would be better served staying in bed, head under the covers.

If her election is pre-baked, then the party is corrupted beyond repair...meaning a third party is necessary.

Everyone except Harmeet Dhillon should drop out. Watch Scott Pressler as he aggregates names and contact info for all 168 members of the RNC. Contact the three representatives in your state, territory or DC, to voice your opinion on who they should vote for to get new, fighting, leadership. Dhillon has been on the committee and fighting the lawfare battle for a long time, so she already knows the issues that need to be fixed.
They are but I think the truth is that the party apparatus and key figures have different goals than they say out loud in public. Judged by what they say in public they are bad failures. Judging by what they really want to happen ... well, that depends on what you think they really want to happen. One thing is for sure though: they want to build a firewall to stop Trump at all costs and winning elections isn't necessarily in line with that goal.

In the absence of a GOP Prez’s influence, who the RNC Chair is, is controlled by the state chairs. So, in a way a fix is in, but it’s been that way for a long time.
There hasn’t been an effective RNC Chair since Atwater. I don’t think the state chairs want anyone effective. An effective chair would be a strong one, they don’t want to be told what to do! They would lose too much of their internal state power & influence if they allowed a national chair to have the power the position needs to be effective. They prefer the position to continue to be ornamental. So, why not Rona Romney!
