Rep. Lee Zeldin (D-N.Y.) announced on Wednesday that he will not challenge Ronna McDaniel for the Republican National Committee’s (RNC) top spot but urged the three-time chairwoman to step aside.
“Change is desperately needed, and there are many leaders, myself included, ready and willing to step up to ensure our party retools and transforms as critical elections fast approach,” Zeldin said in a statement.
“However, the issue is Chairwoman McDaniel’s re-election appears to already be pre-baked, as if the disappointing results of every election during her tenure, including yesterday in Georgia, do not and should not even matter,” he added.

If her election is pre-baked, then the party is corrupted beyond repair...meaning a third party is necessary.

Only leaving the GOP and cutting off small donor funding might leave a dent, but then big money can just buff it out

Not too long after the GOPe made him an offer he could not refuse. Horse head in the bed or Cash on the line? We will never know, but I cannot help but think it is one of the two.
Heck, the GOPe is as happy as clams right now. They are in a position where they can carp and moan 24/7 on Fox News and Newsmax, while allowing this country to be driven even further down that authoritarian tube. But they can now go back to those free cruises and junkets and rake in those “campaign donations”.

Trump put McDaniel in that position. As the head of the party, Trump can influence who is named Chair.
