Russia freed WNBA star Brittney Griner on Thursday in a dramatic high-level prisoner exchange, with the U.S. releasing notorious Russian arms dealer Viktor Bout, American officials said. The swap, at a time of heightened tensions over Ukraine, achieved a top goal for President Joe Biden, but carried a heavy price – and left behind an American jailed for nearly four years in Russia.
The deal, the second such exchange in eight months with Russia, procured the release of the most prominent American detained abroad. Griner is a two-time Olympic gold medalist whose monthslong imprisonment on drug charges brought unprecedented attention to the population of wrongful detainees.
"Moments ago I spoke to Brittney Griner. She is safe. She is on a plane. She is on her way home," Biden tweeted Thursday morning.

The unfortunate women who were at that prison are undoubtedly glad to see her go.

The Biden cabal gave the Russians a lot more than an arms dealer to get their poster child back. If all the details were made public, decent Americans would gag.
She better kiss the ground when she sets foot on United States. However, I expect she will all too soon go back to ranting against this country.
I would bet that part of the deal is that the arms dealer will give the biden crime family 10%.
This makes the Lou Brock trade look like genius.
I suspect we are seeing the birth of another career politician.
I cannot help but wonder how long it will be until she is in either the House or the Senate.

So, who won on this trade? Brittney is clearly the better player but to make a fair living from her talents, she had to go to Russia thus endangering her. Meanwhile a male NBA player of little talent makes 10x what Ms. Griner earns.
