Term limits must be imposed on Congress from the outside. They will never reform themselves. They are too addicted to their perks and power. The Founders never envisioned people (men) spending forty-fifty-sixty years in Congress. Back in their day it was not even a full-time job. But now they have voted themselves all kinds of benefits, exempted themselves from the very laws they pass, and rigged campaign laws and gerrymandered districts so that it is even more difficult for them to be voted out.
