Germany says Twitter journalists ban 'unacceptable'
Deutsche Welle ^ | December 16, 2022

Posted on 12/16/2022 4:09:36 AM PST by Oldeconomybuyer

The German Foreign Office tweeted screenshots on Friday of the accounts of journalists suspended by Twitter, telling the social media platform that suspending their accounts was unacceptable.

"Press freedom cannot be switched on and off on a whim," the ministry wrote on its official Twitter page. "The journalists below can no longer follow us, comment and criticize. We have a problem with that, @Twitter."

The move comes a day after the social media platform changed its policies revolving around accounts which tracked private jets, including a jet owned by Musk.

The EU, meanwhile, has warned Elon Musk that Twitter could be subject to sanctions under a new media law after the "worrying" suspension of the journalists.

"EU's Digital Services Act requires respect of media freedom and fundamental rights. This is reinforced under our Media Freedom Act," EU Transparency Commissioner Vera Jourova tweeted.

"Elon Musk should be aware of that. There are red lines. And sanctions, soon."

Yeah, if you doxxed in Germany...local prosecutor would invoke criminal code 126A. Minimum of one year in prison mandated....goes up to max of five if very serious.

Apparently, no one explained to the German commenting that doxxing was the gimmick to lose status on Twitter.

I think even describing someone’s private auto in detail...would be enough to drag someone into court.

And they didn’t have much of a problem with a sitting President of the US being banned from Twitter, did they? The world is full of hypocrites.

The current German authorities are in a dither, as their “banning” and their “sanctions” are deemed “in Ordnung” when they do it, but when others do as they do, they cry foul. Such is the crop of current and very green leadership throughout Germany, a subservient vassal to the EU and the Imperial State of DC.

This has been building for many years, because the concepts of "member state" and "national sovereignty" are mutually exclusive, when push comes to shove. And push is definitely coming to shove.

right, the response to Germany should be:

Dear Germany, we have no business presence in your country. You have no authority to directly regulate us. Bu-Bye!

Did they issue their condemnation on a black and white newsreel?

I always find those sort of edits from Germany more menacing…

They do realize they’re talking about rights that must be respected by GOVERNMENT right? How on earth does that apply to Twitter? Of course they had no problem when it was other people being banned.

This is all just absurd and highlights the corrupt nature of all of today’s governments.

They claim to be ‘saving the worlds problems’ when they’re really the only problem themselves.
