The House committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol is preparing to urge the Department of Justice to prosecute former President Donald Trump on criminal charges during its business meeting on Monday, sources familiar with the matter told ABC News.

The committee has for months been debating the move, which is largely symbolic.

The committee plans to include in their criminal referral the charges of obstruction of an official proceeding and conspiracy to defraud the United States, according to sources.

Another charge under discussion for referral is insurrection, the sources said.

Why not? Who would stop them from doing so? Certainly not the people.

“...defraud the United States...”

President Trump could bring these charges on the Democrat Party...

Then they have to show ALL THE EVIDENCE!

Videos inside and outside the Capitol building. Documents regarding Epps and any other FBI stools.

Everything!!!

I watched the hearings and the things they were saying trump was responsible for were totally ludicrous.
They actually claimed that he was responsible for all actions taken by the proud boys even though he told them not to do anything.

In a banana republic, the new presidente persecutes the old presidente.
Thank goodness we are not like that.

Oh, wait. We are exactly like that.

Viva Brandon! (I guess.)

It’s not a banana republic. We live in a fascist state. The fascist don’t want trump to return to power, they are terrified of him.

Then they have to show ALL THE EVIDENCE!

Do they, though? I recall a certain recent high profile case where an individual was convicted of trafficking minors to wealthy folks, and yet we haven't seen a single name on her client list.

A real prosecutor would be sanctioned for bringing such a shoddy, biased charge before a court.

Their power ends in January so they need to come up with something to charge trump with even though they all know he did nothing wrong

So sad that people who benefit from what our forefathers brought about will be so blind and totally dismiss ethic’s/law/God . To try and undermine a President (who should still be in office in my opinion) with such venom and lies and to carry themselves as rightous is nothing more than demonic. Think what you will of Donald John Trump , while in office we had no wars, terrorist stood down, our economy was getting to be hot...and all of the forecasts of doom never culminated until the steal was implemented. Look at our bloated /corrupt /degenerate federal structure now. I say “F” this Jan. 6th sideshow.

Trumps only offense - and it was a doozy - was holding his rally in the Democrat stronghold of DC. He should have held it in a city where his followers would be safe and where Dems and antifa couldn’t have turned it into s false flag riot. A city like Orlando or El Paso or Tulsa. He didn’t commit a genuine crime by holding his rally on the turf of Nancy Pelosi and the deep state. But it was a crime against common sense.

Numerous vid of Ray Epps with a bullhorn encouraging protester to storm the Capitol. Why hasn’t he been subpoenaed or forced to since he had several other people doing the same thing without bullhorns?

This entire committee is just Pelosi covering her tracks because she was asked twice by Trump if she wanted fed troops days before the riots.

Antifa, FBI and DHS were involved. Proud Boys were a minor distraction conveniently used to take attention away from aforementioned groups.
