'Vultures circling Putin' as despot faces 'coup' from once-loyal henchmen

Cronies of Vladimir Putin are reportedly plotting a coup against him, while another trusted aide is lying low and preparing to act as kingmaker, according to new reports.

In a further blow to Mad Vlad, there are claims his whisky-loving foreign minister Sergei Lavrov is “drinking because he is depressed” and is suffering “health problems".

On top of this, there are recurring rumours of the dictator's poor health, with some believing he may have cancer.

According to insiders, there were two key meetings on Thursday (December 15) where he had to stay in the same position and sit on a special cushion.

One report even claims to Kremlin's top chef, Yevgeny Progozhin, would be the man to start a coup against Putin.

Prigozhin, 61, had a remit much wider than merely serving up grub to the Kremlin elite, and even has his own private army and is thought to have recruited tens of thousands of mercenaries to fight in Ukraine.

“This is uncharted territory for Putin,” said Christo Grozev, the chief Russia investigator for the Bellingcat investigative journalism organisation.

Quantum Fiber 4 Key Factors Your Internet Provider Should Be Doing to Keep Your Multifamily Residents Safe by Taboola “Prigozhin has 20,000 bloodthirsty, armed and aggressive men…

“They’re telling me, ‘We’re wondering if we should just lay down our arms because we’ve been turned into cannon fodder and go to Moscow?’ That’s in their thought process already.”

Grozev thinks a Prigozhin-led coup is a realistic option in the new year, saying: “This pressure cooker has to explode in one direction or another. Either it will be a bloody revolution or something else.”

Whatever - if we’re going to try to penetrate the succession plans of corrupt governments, I’d prefer we started with our own here in the US.

At some point in the next weeks or months the West will be forced to concede that it cannot continue pouring billions into Ukraine without inflicting enormous damage on its own economies and people. At that point the memes of Russian weakness and defeat will crumble. NATO faces the real risk of being demilitarized. But it will not be the result of a frontal assault by Russia. Russia will continue doing what it is doing — i.e., pulverizing Western wonder weapons and bleeding the Ukrainian and foreign mercenaries with artillery and missiles.

Update on Russian military operations in and around Ukraine for December 17, 2022:

- Russian missiles and drones deliver massive damage to Ukrainian electrical infrastructure;
- The extensive damage reported by Russian strikes contradicts Kiev’s claims of intercepting “most” Russian missiles and drones;
- Pentagon plans training program for 500 Ukrainian forces per month falling far short of necessary numbers just to replace lost Ukrainian manpower;
- Ukrainian General Zaluzhny admits a growing logistical crisis and shortcomings regarding Western systems transferred to Ukrainian forces;
- Zaluzhny complains about HIMARS’ limited range; - Zaluzhny demands arms deliveries on a scale the US and NATO are incapable of;

The Russian Ministry of Defense does not appeared at all worried about its ability of keep shredding Ukraine’s infrastructure and military formations with missiles. It reported today (Saturday) on the results of its Friday barrage:

On Friday, 16 December, Ukraine’s military command, defence and industrial complex systems and the energy facilities supporting them were hit with a massive strike by long-range, airborne and sea-based precision weapons. The purpose of the strike has been achieved. All the assigned targets have been neutralised.

◻️The strike prevented the transfer of foreign-made weapons and ammunition, blocked the movement of reserves to combat areas, and halted Ukraine’s defence enterprises producing and repairing weapons, military equipment and ammunition. In the course of repelling the strike by Ukrainian and Western air defence systems, a significant resource was expended on deliberately launched decoys.

The problem with decoys, is that they still have to be launched. They might as well have a warhead and a simple guidance system.

New information I found interesting.

https://t.me/i20028843

🇷🇺IL RUSSO🇷🇺, [12/17/2022 5:33 AM]
💥💥💥In its commentary on yesterday’s missile strikes on Ukrainian infrastructure, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that decoys were used during the strike to deceive Ukrainian air defense. At the same time, positions were opened and four radar stations of the Ukrainian S-300 air defense systems in the Dnepropetrovsk and Zaporozhye regions were destroyed.

It is interesting that the destruction of four radar stations mentioned by the Russian defense department coincides with the data of the Ukrainian General Staff, which in its report yesterday indicated the use of four Kh-59 and Kh-31P aircraft missiles.

If the situation described by the military of both sides really took place, then we can make a bold assumption about the beginning of the process of suppression and destruction of Ukrainian air defense systems during long-range missile strikes on the territory of Ukraine.

We have repeatedly written about the prospects and the need for fire impact on the Ukrainian air defense system in our publications, recently Rybar spoke about this topic at length. We hope that with these strikes the beginning of this time-consuming and important process was nevertheless laid💥💥💥

🇷🇺IL RUSSO🇷🇺, [12/17/2022 5:43 AM]
💥💥💥Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation: On the eve of the military command and control systems, the military-industrial complex and energy facilities of Ukraine that supply them, faced a massive attack from high-precision long-range air and sea weapons based. The goal has been achieved. All assigned objects are hit.

As a result of the strike, the transfer of foreign-made weapons and ammunition was stopped, the advance of reserves in the areas of hostilities was blocked, and defense enterprises of Ukraine for the production and repair of weapons, military equipment and ammunition was stopped💥💥💥

This all sounds like wishful thinking, events that some would like to see happening, but are not actually unfolding. I don’t think much of Putin, but there’s no point in publishing fantasies that will have no effect on anything.
