GOP Furious After Discovering $3.6 Million for Michelle Obama In Omnibus Package
Republic Brief ^ | 12/22/2022 | Kari Donovan

Posted on 12/22/2022 9:09:56 PM PST by SeekAndFind

Greedy Democrats are spending money they do not have on the backs of the American taxpayers, who they treat like they are drunks in the middle of the night at an ATM machine.

Shocking evidence has emerged from their insane, self-glorifying massive $1.7 trillion spending package of a suspicious provision that involves radical Marxist Michelle Obama, who is married to another radical Marxist, former POTUS Barack Obama.

In the legislation lies $3.6 million to fund the Michelle Obama Trail—PATH Trail Project,” Carmine Sabia reported for Conservative Brief, adding a slam by Freedom House Caucus member:

“The Democrats’ reckless omnibus bill spends YOUR money on a ‘Michelle Obama Trail,’ a ‘Ukraine Independence Park’ in DC, and a ‘Speaker Pelosi Federal Building’ in San Francisco. Are you ok with all of this?” Republican Arizona Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ) said.

Are you ok with all of this?

— Rep Andy Biggs (@RepAndyBiggsAZ) December 20, 2022

Biggs was not alone:

“Here are just a handful of the many earmarks in the bill, including $3.6 million for the ‘Michelle Obama Trail,’” Rep. Dan Bishop said.

And others joined:

I will vote against the radical Biden omnibus, which includes “woke” nonsense like a $3.6 million “Michelle Obama Trail” in Georgia. Why are Senate Republicans voting for this? “Rep. Mary Miller (@RepMaryMiller) posted on Twitter on December 20, 2022.

“Would you spend $2 million on a wax museum?

How about $3.6 million on the “Michelle Obama Trail?”

Well, you’re about to.

These are two earmarks in the omnibus spending bill that will become law this week.

I’ll be voting to strip every earmark out of the bill,” Senator Mike Braun (@SenatorBraun) posted on Twitter on December 20, 2022.

Sabia reported:

And Sen. Rand Paul spoke to reporters about other wasteful spending included in the omnibus.

CNN reported some of the ridiculous spendings in the legislation.

“The legislation includes $772.5 billion for non-defense discretionary programs and $858 billion in defense funding, according to a bill summary from Democratic Sen. Patrick Leahy, chair of the Senate Committee on Appropriations,” he said.

“The sweeping package includes roughly $45 billion in emergency assistance to Ukraine and NATO allies, boosts in spending for disaster aid, college access, child care, mental health and food assistance, more support for the military and veterans and additional funds for the US Capitol Police, according to Leahy’s summary and one from Sen. Richard Shelby of Alabama, the top Republican on the Senate Appropriations Committee. It also includes several major Medicaid provisions, including one that could disenroll up to 19 million people from the nation’s health insurance program for low-income Americans,” it said.

Paul was furious with the legislation as he showed the approximately 4,000 pages to reporters.

“I brought along the 1.7 trillion, 4,000+ page Pelosi-Schumer omnibus spending bill that’s being fast-tracked through the Senate. This process stinks. It’s an abomination. It’s a no good rotten way to run government. We’re standing up and saying NO.” Senator Rand Paul (@SenRandPaul) posted on Twitter on December 20, 2022.

— Senator Rand Paul (@SenRandPaul) December 20, 2022

“I brought with me the omni, 4,155 pages. When was it produced? In the dead of the night — 1:30 in the morning when it was released,” he said to reporters.

“Now people argue it is conservatives’ fault, you don’t have the Christmas spirit, and somehow you’re holding up the government,” the senator said. “Well, whose job is it to produce this? The people in charge of spending. The people in charge of both of the parties.

“When did they know that this would be necessary? Well, it is in the law. Sept. 30. You’ve got nine months, almost ten months to produce a plan. They weren’t ready on Sept. 30, so they voted themselves 90 more days. They weren’t ready last week either, so they voted themselves another week. And now we have it at 1:30 in the morning this morning,” he said.

“But what’s the clamor? The clamor is to vote! ‘Vote now! Let’s get it done. Why are you standing in the way of spending?’” he said.

“Well, the real question is this: What is more dangerous to the country — $1.1 trillion in new debt or, as Republican leadership likes to say, ‘Oh, it is a win! It is a big win. We’re getting $45 billion for the military’?” the senator said.

“So which is more important? Which threatens the country more? Are we at risk from being invaded by a foreign power if we don’t put $45 billion into the military? Are we more at risk by adding to a $31 trillion debt?” he said.

“I think the greatest risk to our national security is our debt. The process stinks, it is an abomination. It is a no-good rotten way to run your government,” the senator said.

“The American people don’t want this. They’re sick and tired of it. They’re paying for it through the nose with inflation,” he said. “Adding a trillion dollars to the deficit will simply fuel the fires that are consuming our wages and consuming our retirement plans. It is a terrible system. Someone needs to stand up. We’re standing up, and we’re going to say no.”

Marco Rubio from FL voted for it. He didn’t waste any time after he won his race.

Notice how most Republicans that are against the bill make weak arguments. Yeah, at least they are against it, but they are not thinking about how their arguments are received. I have to think that by this point when most people hear about a $3.6 million earmark as part of $1.7 trillion they yawn whether it Moooshelle’s project or not. Half of Americans, Democrats that is, see no harm in the project. To move the needle, you have to motivate 60 or 70% of Americans. That includes Democrats. I don’t know what button to push to get that many people on board, but this is congressmen’s full time job (well it supposed to be, we know it really is getting campaign donations). They ought to know. This is where a focus group helps, just don’t use McCarthy’s pear shaped butt boy to run the focus group.

No, you can also pressure the House Republicans to just say “NO!” and also “NO!” to both Kevin and the Omnibus. Yeah, Trump fulfilled his part of whatever bargain there was and endorsed him. But he isn’t the boss of me and my conscience, and even if he were POTUS right now, he’s still not the boss of Congress. He’ll probably breath a sigh of relief if Kevin isn’t elected Speaker.

Let's face it. In Washington DC, we are a fart in a windstorm. There's nothing we can do to pressure them.

The only “pressure” DC would take seriously is an army of 500,000 rebels.

Great gif for laughing at the dingbats who voted for it.

Nancy was so right when she told them about the Obamacare bill “You have to vote for it and then you can find out what’s in it.”

Like a rube trusting a used car salesman and just signing everything on the desk.

GOP: But the Democrats seemed so honest, so sincere.

Story, if true, was that George H.W. Bush was assured in private by the Dems “Just go out there and say we’re sorry but we had to raise taxes after you said no new taxes, but we’re standing by you and we’ll come out and join you and tell them we agreed to it, too.”
Then, of course, they left Bush out to twist in the wind in front of the media and denied they ever agree with him.

Then why did they vote for it?

They gave away the power of the purse strings for the first year of their majority. How foolish can they be? That was the only leverage they would have had. They’re certainly not going to get any laws passed because the rats control the Senate and the Executive Branch.

What a laughable joke. Did anyone from any party, read the 4,000 plus page bill before it was voted on????

These four thousand page bills... where do they come from? Schumer just had this sitting in a desk drawer all ready to go? And no one... NO ONE! reads these things or knows what's in all of it. It's impossible. Unfortunately, it's not impassable.
