Yes, the plant is just south of Pittsburgh. As I noted, it’s closed. But the buildings aren’t falling down, or anything like that. So who knows, maybe some sane politician will start it up again.
On the other hand, Pennsylvania went for Fetterman. So I guess it’s more likely the place will be used to confine undesirable conservatives.

I'm from Pittsburgh but live in Eastern Ohio between Steubenville and Wheeling. When Mom died, I lost the house and followed my grade school BFF (we've been together since 1978 from 6th grade) down here but I'm still in the area. I think maybe it could be either Hatfield's Ferry Power Station in Greene County off of Route 21 or perhaps Mitchell Power station off of route 837 in Washington County. I lean towards the former the place looked huge to me. They were shut down in 2013 and 14 respectively. I live just south of the Cardinal Power Station on Route 7 in Ohio, it is coal fired but will go natural gas in 2030. I'm surprised they will shut down Sammis way north of me, it is a huge plant. To the south of me, we have Powhattan Point. All are coal fired.
I'm embarrassed to say I'm form there. First, I'm not picking on Fetterman because of his stoke, but because of that, he does not have the capabilities to handle the job as senator, period. Can he make, being a "rat" aside," be able to have a rational though process? I believe not, Don't forget, Pittsburgh voted for a dead man for the State Senate, IIRC. Well, why not, the dead will vote for their own, let's face it, the next group to pander to is the Dead-Americans

They have 3 650 megawatt coal fired plants in Craig CO. They are putting together shutdown plans for all 3. All 3 have scubbers to clean up stack discharge gases. Insanity is too kind of a term for the SOB’s making these idiot decisions.

I know, the only way to explain it and I'm preaching to the choir here but these people making the decisions have agendas, I mean no one else would be this stupid otherwise, malfeasance at best, treason at worst. Sammis in Ohio has 7 furnaces, only 3 are going now and they are closing it, it is, or was, 1700 megawatts.

I agree. This isn’t pure stupidity, it’s a plan.
