US has been having a shortage of local anesthetics, especially Lidocaine in pretty much all its variations, but also other drugs, like bupivacaine I can substitute for it, since last winter. In the time since it first showed up on the FDA drug shortage list about all that’s changed is the listed date of expected resolution of the shortage has stayed a year in the future.
