Ben Hodges tells DW he remains optimistic of Ukraine's prospects for victory over the next 12 months. Speaking to Tim Sebastian for a Conflict Zone special, the former US Army Europe commander said it might be “too early to plan a victory parade" but Ukraine had made “irreversible gains.” Hodges also said he expected Ukrainian forces to retake Crimea from Russia in 2023. Moscow illegally annexed the territory in 2014.

Well, no gains are “irreversible” in a war. But Russia doesn’t look like they are currently competent enough to reverse the losses, that’s for sure.
Ben Hodges doesn’t want to risk his pension check
Benny Hodges puts on the Red Rubber Nose.
Our military higher-ups are woke tranny buffoons.
I personally don’t think it’s too early for Ukraine to give some consideration to a victory parade consisting of tractors pulling Russian tanks...through Red Square.
Pretty much everything he said has bee said elsewhere, except ... the point that when Russia loses, as it will, among all the other things that need to happen is the return of the 200,000 children Russia kidnapped and took to Russia.
They can tow a few T-14s also through Red Square because that’s the only way they can cover any ground.

Calling a four-star general names for merely having a different view than yours is clear evidence of your intellectual and moral bankruptcy.
If you see any soap on the floor of the generals' shower room, don't pick it up...
That confirms my views that you Putlerists are obsessed with trannies.
This place is becoming a cesspool.
But if you see enough of these posters, you’ll walk away knowing about their character that’s caused that. They have no sense of awareness to know how they are perceived.
Others seem to argue like adults and others are just punks.
henny Bodges knew full well that there was a coup against Trump.
I spit on him.
He reacted exactly like a political Obama general would.
Go ahead and respect that.
That’s quite a radical pronouncement from a point of ignorance by someone who has never given any evidence of ever serving in the U.S. military.

Makes du seem rational more and more frequently.
Ben Hodges was certainly aware of the coup against Trump and our Republic.
He reacted exactly like a political Obama general would.
Go ahead and respect that.
Russia has strengths in number. They have significant weaknesses in every other way. Russia has shown it is unable to correct its weakenesses in any useful and timely manner. They are having a hard time making up its losses with comparable quantity or quality.
Ukraine has show it is more resilient and resourceful than anyone thought possible. They have the support of dozens of nations providing more than weapons, there's all the training and humanitarian aid.
Looking at the big picture of the total balance of strengths and weakness on both sides, there is a good chance by the end of this year Russia will be pushed all the way out and out of Crimea, which is one of Hodge's predictions.
That, to me is the big tell.
Ukraine has enormous corruption problems. However, that is balanced by the even worse corruption problems Russia has.
Ukrainians perceive themselves as fighting for existence. To the Russians, this is a "cabinet war".
The fact that we are 10 months in, and Russia has been fought to a standstill, is the most important fact in the whole war.
