WaPo Quietly Reports Bombshell Study That Proves Russian Digital Influence in the 2016 Election Was Essentially Nil

Throughout the entirety of Donald Trump’s presidency, the Washington Post and all the other corporate media propagandists claimed Russian influence was what made Hillary Clinton lose. Every minuscule story that even hinted about Russia using bots and spreading pro-Trump messaging on social media was blown up to be massive front page news.

They’ve finally published a story about Russian influence in the 2016 election that didn’t make the front page. In fact, you’d have a hard time finding it on their website if you weren’t looking for it specifically. This is because it highlights a recent study that shows Russia’s “massive” digital influence in the 2016 election didn’t really do anything at all.

The article, titled “Russian trolls on Twitter had little influence on 2016 voters,” paints a picture that goes against every Russian collusion narrative the leftist outlet has ever published. According to the article:

Russian influence operations on Twitter in the 2016 presidential election reached relatively few users, most of whom were highly partisan Republicans, and the Russian accounts had no measurable impact in changing minds or influencing voter behavior, according to a study out this morning.

The study, which the New York University Center for Social Media and Politics helmed, explores the limits of what Russian disinformation and misinformation was able to achieve on one major social media platform in the 2016 elections.

“My personal sense coming out of this is that this got way overhyped,” Josh Tucker, one of the report’s authors who is also the co-director of the New York University center, told me about the meaningfulness of the Russian tweets.

And yet, how much did WaPo and its editorial staff PROMOTE the total lie that Trump was controlled by Russia and that Russia somehow influenced the US election?

They knew it was a bald faced lie. The Russian government knew it was a bald faced lie. How much damage did that do to relations?
Then when Trump met Putin and was an honorable man, the entire US government and press savaged Trump.

It was just dirty politics for our DC party. But in the real world, the falsely accused Russian government got a good hard look at the pervasive dishonesty and evil in the US government. Not long after, he warned us publicly not to follow the path into madness that the USSR did.

The DC scams about Russiagate were far more destructive than we can imagine.

I am quite sure that Russians preferred Hillary!
She was obviously a bad secretary of state and they could manipulate her easily.
Trump was a big unknown. They do not like that!

They knew this from the beginning. There was data even before the 2016 election showing that Russian troll farms were pushing similar quantity of anti-Trump and anti-Clinton propaganda. The goal was to undermine Americans confidence in our elections, government, democracy and both political parties. Those efforts continue today. I honestly doubt they thought Trump could win. Putin was probably looking forward to playing with Hillary like a cat plays with a mouse.

.
The one indictment was pulled word per word off a paper on the Internet.

Took an hour to write that Indictment.

It was making people believe.

In 2018 I got an email (a mass email) from Twitter informing me that I’d interacted with Russian bots prior to the 2016 election. Problem is, I didn’t create the account till December 2016. I’ve always known they were liars.

Most of us already knew that. Russia is the leftist boogieman they use every time they need an entity to blame for the things that they are actually responsible for.

Russia is convenient for them. They don’t use China because they are actually in collusion with China and we don’t make anything anymore.

Of course they did. As senator and SoS Hillary had a record of dullwitted incompetence a mile long. They knew her inside out, and just how to play her for the fool she is. Trump was an unknown in terms of his foreign policy intentions— a big uncertainty. Foreign states of any stripe don’t like that in the White House. If Russia did anything, which it now appears they did little or nothing, they would have worked for the devil they knew.

...and that they were particularly inane and ‘unsophisticated’. You could look at their posts and see they were the product of an idiot.
