Flights across the United States were affected Wednesday morning after the Federal Aviation Administration said it experienced a computer outage.

All flights in the U.S. were grounded following the incident, a source with knowledge of the situation told NBC News.

I have certainly never heard of that computer system, but it strikes me as very suspicious that something so critical could all of a sudden go down, affecting traffic nationwide.

Is it hacking, incompetence brought on by affirmative action, critical race theory, etc.?

In the olden days of the 1970s and 80s it was a common occurance for the FAA computerized flight management system to go down, and for air traffic controllers revert to a manual system of writing down names of flights on blocks called "shrimp boats" to keep track of aircraft.

FNC reporting more than 1000 flights delayed currently, Newark states all flights grounded until 10AM ET.

NOTAMS appears to be the system not functioning.

UA has delayed all its flights.

Supposedly it’s a grey regulatory area whether the airlines can fly while the NOTAM system is down.

Cleared Update No. 2 for all stakeholders:

The FAA is still working to fully restore the Notice to Air Missions system following an outage.

While some functions are beginning to come back on line, National Airspace System operations remain limited.
