NOTAM = Notice to Airmen... it’s just a generic term... I see no need to have changed that term.
Anyone ever hear of the rank of “Airman” in the USAF????
The fact is, and most people ignore this aspect in failures of our infrastructure, is that over the past 10 years or so, people have been hired for their D.I.E. score rather than their expertise in the hands-on mechanical field. (Heck, I learned just today that the word “field” is now forbidden).
Therefore, you will see more failures in airlines, passenger trains and other public transport, along with water and sewer systems, and road and bridge repairs and maintenance. The people that “can do” are being replaced with people who “can’t do anything” but instead check all the correct hiring boxes.
