It was once, yes. I imagine he remembers it from his youth, or his parents/grandparents. Certainly not in 2023.

Yeah, really. Farage is either a shill or an outright moron. As is the case in the U.S., nothing has actually changed. For both the Tories and conventional Republicans in the U.S., the "driving force" is, and always has been, the false god, the idol, of money.

That the British Conservatives are seen now to be embracing the Green/climate agenda is simply down to the fact that that agenda is the ultimate con, the ultimate grift, for those -- invariably on the Right -- whose only consideration in these matters is "how can we make money off of this in the near term?"

As for the U.S., anyone who is waiting for the GOP to pull the plug on the Green/climate agenda, at such time as the GOP may be in a position again to do so, will be waiting in vain, I can assure you. The fix is in. Notwithstanding certain propaganda to the contrary, the Green/climate agenda rolled along merrily under the Trump administration -- a few tweaks were made to it on the margin, but the plug was never pulled and never was going to be -- and it will continue to do so even if the GOP should recapture the WH after the 2024 elections.

When you worship money as your god -- a ironclad reality that defines the GOP today -- that's what you're going to get. Yeah, eventually, the lights may actually go out, and affordable personal transportation may become a relic of the past. But, hey, the "favored few" of the Republican Party would have made bank in the meantime, and that's what's really important, right? That's what you idiot chodes are voting for, right?

Not on their own part. They need subjects, and short of liquidating them, you subvert their morality their politial purpose, not just money, but also power.
