A newly restored documentary spotlights her despicable Team Communism cheerleading. Back around the time Jane Fonda was giving aid and comfort to America’s Communist enemies in North Vietnam, yukking it up with anti-aircraft gunners who shot down our troops — I wonder if there are any laws against that sort of thing — she also headlined an anti-U.S.O. tour. Despising the actual U.S.O. for its policy of giving aid and comfort to American troops, Fonda went on the road with a hippie rebuttal to bolster the chances of the North Vietnamese Stalinists who, after the war turned out the way she wanted it to, forced 300,000 people into prison camps for reeducation. Fonda’s tour was called “F.T.A.,” and in the opening moments of the documentary of the same name, you can see her on stage with her pal and Klute co-star Donald Sutherland screaming out what it stood for: “[censored] the Army.”

Thoroughly deserving of a grave urination…
To a hammer, everything is a nail.
Me either. Changes my view of him and his work.
Back then, pretending to be a Commie was how you got the loose women. Do it long enough and you become one, like Winston Smith.
Jane Fonda wasn’t a hippie, people don’t seem to know what they were and now use the term to mean mostly people who were anything but.
Hippies were not political, they were not the Chicago 7 and Jane Fonda, they were not getting law degrees, and college degrees and becoming politicians or activists.
No they weren’t.
I think she should have lost her citizenship and been forced to become Jane Ho for N Viet.
“...but I didn’t realize Donald Sutherland was a Commie too.”
He was a lefty from way back. He supported the Black Panthers in the 1960s before he really became known in 1970 with the movie M.A.S.H.
He and Jane Fonda had an affair in the early 1970s.
“I didn’t realize Donald Sutherland was a Commie too.”
Donald Sutherland’s favorite roles were always maniacal US military officers. That’s just my observation.
“During the filming of the Academy Award-winning detective thriller Klute, Sutherland had an intimate relationship with co-star Jane Fonda. Sutherland and Fonda went on to co-produce and star together in the anti–Vietnam War documentary F.T.A. (1972), consisting of a series of sketches performed outside army bases in the Pacific Rim and interviews with American troops who were then on active service. A follow up to their teaming up in Klute, Sutherland and Fonda performed together in Steelyard Blues (1973), a “freewheeling, Age-of-Aquarius, romp-and-roll caper” from the writer David S. Ward.”
“His second marriage, which lasted from 1966 to 1970, was to Shirley Douglas, daughter of Canadian social democratic politician and the ‘father’ of Canada’s universal healthcare system, Tommy Douglas.”

“Hippies were not political, they were not the Chicago 7 and Jane Fonda, they were not getting law degrees, and college degrees and becoming politicians or activists.”
The original “hippies” were basically just non-conformists who wanted to live a Bohemian lifestyle, but without the politics. That changed as soon as the radical left got involved with them.
M.A.S.H. is the only movie I know him from.
Fonda should have been executed for what she did, but I bet dear ole democrat daddy saved her commie ass.
They didn’t change, those were different people.
Better get there early. Its going to be a loooong line.
Fonda was a hero to the dominant liberal culture and the media, John Wayne was the bad guy to them, they really hated “The Cowboys”.
