View comments A Russian frigate carrying 'unstoppable' Mach 9 nuclear-capable hypersonic cruise missiles has deviated from its course and is sailing towards the US coast, reports have claimed.
The Admiral Gorshkov, armed with Zircon missiles which Vladimir Putin boasts has 'no equivalent in the world', is being closely monitored by NATO navies during its maiden voyage.
Earlier this month, the frigate was escorted through British waters by the Royal Navy, and French and Spanish ships then escorted it through the Atlantic.
It was scheduled to head south past South Africa to the Indian Ocean then enter the Mediterranean Sea through the Suez Canal.
But monitoring sites claim it took a sudden diversion and headed west towards Bermuda.
An unconfirmed Russian Telegram channel report says the warship was 'spotted on radar in neutral waters of the Atlantic Ocean - at an effective salvo launch distance from the US coast'.
The Russian defence ministry has not commented on the Navodka channel claim...

This is not Russia telling us what they are doing. This is ourside telling our side what they want to tell us. We are being told this story to manipulate us. The Russians don’t tell the world where their ships are going. Our war mongers are trying to provoke us into supporting this war.
You mean WWIII, or some other war. Do you think that the Russians are planning on sinking it themselves? What is the US going to do when the Russians figure out what ship(s)the tanks and other promised armaments are on... and send it/them to the briny deep?

Its not supposed to be carrying nukes, per treaties.
IIRC of naval missiles only certain subs are allowed.
But so be it.
The SSN under her keel will make sure of that.

Probably all our own subs are on super duper alert level 4. And those orbiting secret and expensive military satellites on both sides might get involved. Hi tech stuff with electric grids and communications systems have been war-gamed and used. And then drones,...oh my! I’m outta here!
That cargo is aboard the ARC Integrity, a US flagged vessel, so its crewed by American merchant seamen. No doubt its also got a US army detachment to see to the cargo.
Its a bit odd of you to wish for the death of Americans.
In case you haven't noticed, there are a good number of freepers who are not on our side any more.
