Students and faculty have planned yet another protest as former Sen. Ben Sasse, R-Neb., prepares to take leadership of the University of Florida.
UF President-elect Sasse recently won approval from the Board of Trustees to become the school’s next president. He is one of many Republicans and conservatives who are taking up positions in Florida’s academia amid a much larger push against woke politicization of education.
The Gainesville Sun, a local Florida newspaper, reported that the incoming college president "will be greeted by protestors Monday afternoon outside the school's administration building as he officially takes the helm of the top-5 public university."
Protesters will reportedly demand Sasse commit to an agenda with demands such as, "Market equity raises for staff," "Publicly disavow attacks from Tallahassee on academic and free speech," and "Maintain pre-existing commitments to inclusivity, equity and diversity."
Sasse was escorted inside a police car for safety when he visited the campus amid protests in the fall.
A local organization, UF Graduate Assistants United, tweeted footage of Sasse entering the police vehicle as an onlooker said, "We don’t want you here," and screaming could be heard. The organization tweeted, "This is what a coward looks like. This will be your life every day if you accept a position here. @BenSasse."

Follow Nancy Reagan’s advice and “Just Say No”.
Gay-tors.
I’d say worse than that.
A good job for him. The university and Sasse deserve each other.
Leftists need to have their pay cut 10% per year until they leave.
Anything to get him out of Nebraska.
I hope he uses their “list” for toilet paper and throws it back at them.
Just tell them to F#CK OFF, then watch the little snowflakes melt!
Let the whiney snots (“non-men?” Really?) go to another school, then.
And why are they all ugly?
students and faculty need to get back to class and their desks or be out of school and a job, period!
I think Diversity quotas are great and should be expanded in Academia. Florida and other states just need to expand them to include the most important kind of diversity - namely, diversity of thought.
Of course in real terms that means “Leftists need not apply” for about 20 years until ideological balance is restored to Academia but hey “muh diversity” so Leftists can hardly complain.
As a proud alum, UF is just as infected with Leftism in its faculty and administration and student body as just about every other university. Most alums are far more conservative than current students or faculty.
When Clark Kerr, head of the University of California, Berkeley, gave into student protesters in the nineteen sixties he unleashed the whirlwind. A whirlwind that has, in effect, destroyed the American university as a citadel of intellectual debate.
Upset tranny
“He is one of many Republicans and conservatives “
When did Sasse become a conservative? I think he’ll cave and disavow.
Screw the little Marxists.
Hubby was a Berkeley student in the ‘70s, and that’s when he became a conservative. He was non-political until he saw the behavior of the freaks there and decided he didn’t want to be like them.
I tended left when I was a Gator (76 grad) but am far more right now, with a lifetime of experience to draw upon.
