Breaking Russia? More like breaking ourselves - America’s days as the primary player in Europe will close fast without a radical policy shift on Ukraine

Playing Risk while drunk

For too long Washington has refused to think strategically about some of the major foreign policy issues of our time. In the rare instance where Washington’s policymakers do think strategically, the strategies they concoct seem less like realistic attempts at applying state power and more like they were conceived over a game of Risk while under the heavy influence of alcohol.

Such is the case with the current American preoccupation in Ukraine.

The Russians have invaded Ukraine. They’ve committed their entire society to the war. In the words of popular geopolitical analyst Peter Zeihan, this is “Russia’s last war.” Their society will not survive beyond the decade and Russia’s economy and political system will collapse because Russian strongman Vladimir Putin has overstretched in Ukraine.

All these statements may be true. Washington’s leadership has decided to test the limits of these assumptions by throwing everything into supporting non-NATO member Ukraine – even if it risks another world war.

The premise of the headline from Red China’s mouthpiece is patently false. Europe has lined up with the United States and coalesced against Russia.

Good. Russia’s invasion of Ukraine is a war crime. But it is not our problem. Since the reunification of Germany at the latest, Europe has been able to stand on its own two feet. There is no need for us to spend billions to be the “primary player” there anymore.

Other great powers have tried that model. For example, Rome just had to be the primary player, everywhere. Then came the British. Both went bankrupt, and lost pretty much everything. I suppose we will, too.

From the article

"We broke NATO, not Russia

Now with news breaking from the controversial investigative journalist, Seymour Hersh, that last September the Nordstream pipeline connecting bountiful and cheap Russian natural gas to Europe via Germany may have been sabotaged by the United States, an entirely new element of this slow-rolling disaster in Europe unfolds."

It’s going to be a tough sell that “we did it for your own good”.

It’ll take a while for it to sink in but it will. Kicking troublemaking Americans out will solve a lot of their problems.

"The premise of the headline from Red China's mouthpiece is patently false. Europe has lined up with the United States and coalesced against Russia."

Europe is being systematically deindustrialized by high energy costs that are rendering Europe incapable of competing due to those costs being included in the prices of their products. What a win for Europe.

“For too long Washington has refused to think strategically about some of the major foreign policy issues of our time.”

The Ukraine policy is PURE Feminine Emotion, manifesting itself as hatred toward Russia. And the result is IMPULSIVE decisions, like ending SWIFT and blowing up pipelines, that result in the US being ISOLATED in the world.

Just today there are articles about Sudan and Russia reaching an agreement on a Russian military base in Sudan. Why does Sudan, like most of Africa now, side with Russia - simple, they see Russia as leaving them alone to run their internal affairs, rather than DEMANDING Drag Queen Parades if they want our help.

And they also see what happens to countries, in this case Russia, when they refuse to march in lock-step with the Neocons. They want no part of it. France, just last week, lost Mali, a former colony that they had close ties with for DECADES, to the Russians...same thing.

The Neocons should have been dispatched when the Cold War ended...instead they were lifted to power - and now our children and grandchildren get to pay the price for that.

“The Neocons should have been dispatched when the Cold War ended...”

They’ve put everyone in a deep hole and they won’t stop digging. The good news for all is Putin is taking away their shovels.

cunuck_conservative, who writes your checks? Your delusions and propaganda are clearly paid for, by whom??

“In the words of popular geopolitical analyst Peter Zeihan, this is “Russia’s last war.” Their society will not survive beyond the decade and Russia’s economy and political system will collapse because Russian strongman Vladimir Putin has overstretched in Ukraine.”

This maybe the most delusional thing that I have heard in some time. Despite the worthless sanctions against Russia. Looking at all economic data, with out the west, Russia’s economy is booming. Oh and they are preparing for a US led WW3. Then the pin heads in our government are goading China into it.

For all sane Americans, this may very well be the best thing to happen to the US in a long time. All of or most all of our leftist psychopaths will be dead.

For those not updated, Russian nukes are hyper sonic, we can’t touch them. Not sure what China is holding, but they are not likely far behind.

Be well! Founded

This coming from a peon Canuck in Canada, the 51st state. The balloon that was shot down over Canada was shot down by a U.S. F-22 which means that Canada is a vassal state with no control over its own airspace.

What does it feel like to be a subject people?

He will, one way or another. The hope now is that the Neocons can pack their bags, take their loot, and slither off into the sunset...rather than starting a nuclear war with Russia, since they’re DAMN CLOSE to doing that.
