According to Cal Fire, in 2019, they made 70 arson-related arrests statewide. And, in 2022, it more than doubled with Cal Fire making 163 arson-related arrests.
Zulliger also said about 20% of their yearly calls are arson-related. “I would say, in general, arson is a crime just like any other crime,” Zulliger said. “So, when you see an increase of crime, in general, arson is going to rise with those other crime numbers as well.

are they using assault matches to cause these fires? do they blame the matches?
Doesn’t 20% seem incredible? Except for insurance fraud aren’t they usually lone nutjobs who want to get a thrill out of watching fires destroy things?
Declare “Open Season” on arsonists.
