It’s been a Texas thing for over 100 years. Not sure when it spread beyond the Red River.

Only in the last 10 years.

I never heard of it until then. I think due to some history show. Assume it was about the civil war.

Congress passed it and Biden signed into law in June 2021, in part, no doubt, to honor St. George of Fentanyl. Almost insultingly its official name is “Juneteenth National Independence Day”. I was under the impression that we already had an “independence Day”.
