Or are they? Seems to me that most of the country is against sexualizing kids, so by bringing it up, even if attacking, they are ELEVATING DeSantis.

In 2015 and 2016 we were very skeptical of Trump because of his past support for Democrats, his comments on religion, etc, etc. Pence was put on the ticket to show Trump would not be hostile to religion.
Yes there are some suspect votes from DeSantis but his record as Governor the past five years has been stellar in not only words but deeds. His ability to get legislation passed, build a coalition in Florida across the voting spectrum is very important.
