The conventional wisdom is that it’s not a good idea to skip breakfast.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
There was a science-based report just this past week that discussed historical evidence that breakfast evolved as the result of food manufacturers promoting the “need” to eat a meal before beginning the workday to benefit ones health and productivity. This despite the fact that until the 19th century there was no such thing as eating a regular breakfast to start one’s day.
History is a more accurate source than whatever you read. A morning meal goes back to ancient times, but fell out of favor in the middle ages when it implied weakness or being a common laborer who needed strength to make it through the day to the big midday feast.
There are any number of books written before the 19th century that mention having something to eat to start the day.
If you are talking about eating only certain foods then that is correct but eating something in the morning, if you have it, have been a thing since we started cooking.
And that was a very long time ago.
