Pence is a fraud establishment trashbag who doesn’t realize his career is finished. He will get next to 0% of the primary vote and won’t even have a shot at VP. Him “trashing” DeSantis is a compliment.
DeSantis simply made Disney act like every other business in the state and cancelled their special snowflake status.
“Pence trashing DeSantis = an endorsement for DeSantis.”
*************
Nailed it.
Well, letting Disney run their own tax free city is beyond sanity too. Maybe Pence doesn’t understand what we’re up against. DeSantis is right on this issue. Reedy Creek should have been overturned years ago. had
If Pence wants to stand with the groomers he’s in for a nasty run for office.
Pence’s candidacy will be a very short one. He’s less than irrelevant.
You pretty much summed it up. Well done! :)
We finally have someone, somewhere who fights back against satanic Disney, and Pence hates it... great Christian that he is.
Respectfully to the author of the referenced article, you can kind of tell when an author probably doesn't have a grip on state powers v. constitutionally limited power federal government.
"10th Amendment: The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."
"They form a portion of that immense mass of legislation, which embrace every thing in the territory of a state not surrendered to the general government [emphasis added]. Inspection laws, quarantine laws, and health laws, as well as laws for regulating the internal commerce of a state, and others, which respect roads, fences, &c. are component parts of state legislation, resulting from the residuary powers of state sovereignty. No direct power over these is given to congress, and consequently they remain subject to state legislation, though they may be controlled by congress, when they interfere with their acknowledged powers." —Justice Joseph Story, Article I, Section 10, Clause 2, 1833.
”Simply this, that the care of the property, the liberty, and the life of the citizen, under the solemn sanction of an oath imposed by your Constitution, is in the States and not in the federal government [emphases added]. I have sought to effect no change in that respect in the Constitution of the country.” —John Bingham, Congressional. Globe. 1866, page 1292 (see top half of third column)
So although Pence may be confused about state powers, the author may be blurring things too.
Pence is persona non grata.
STOP posting articles about this TRAITOR.
Mike Pence = poo emogi.
Clearly, this was done to the benefit of all parties (Disney, Orange & Osceola Counties, the state of Florida) back in the day when Disney was simply an entertainment business looking to make Central Florida a destination place.
That said... Disney went WAY beyond that when they decided to deliberately undermine a policy that the state sought to enact. No government would want to provide direct tax benefits to countermand their own efforts... so this was the last straw.
Hey: free speech isn't free... you have to accept whatever consequences come with the fallout.
“clearly, there was retribution political against them”
Yes, because we are in a war for survival, Pence, and if you aren’t willing to hit back, you are just going to lose, loser.
Exactly. If “limited government conservatives” won’t do anything to fight the commies, then we will need to turn to someone else other than “limited government conservatives”.
Being 100% right on your principles won’t matter if you can’t do anything to save your country from being subverted.
I do not see how removing a special tax and governing status is somehow not “conservative.”
Disney pretty much had free rein on how they ran their “little” suzerainty carved out of the swamps and pasturelands surrounding the west side of Orlando, and so long as they ran it well and with good management in place, the arrangement was agreeable to the State of Florida. But Disney had jumped the shark when they started issuing opinions on how the REST of Florida should be run, just like they they thought they had a vote on that.
Disney management does not. Management got themselves out on a limb, and tried to shake the tree. Dangerous strategy any time, but especially when Disney has also been changing their whole culture into something dark and malign, all in the name of “woke”.
Welcome to the Republic Primary Governor.
UBER Christian Pence sticking up for DEVIANT DISNEY is rich!!
In-the-box thinkers like Pence (and Jebra, et al.) don't seem to have that capacity.
What DeSantis actually did is a lot less significant than was anticipated.
Cutting tax reprieves is exactly what a conservative would (and should) do
Seems they have something in common. Interesting.
Disney World is a woke company town.
