I’m a Navy sub vet. My grandson is 8, I won’t help him or support him joining the military 9 1/2 years from now.
I totally agree, I fully repent from my previous support of the war in Vietnam. I had 7 relatives there within a 2 year time frame. I would have went, but I was at the end of the draft. Graduated at 17, and my cousins and brother said, YOU ARE NOT GOING. I spent years beating myself up for not “doing my duty”. Now I see clearly, the only war to fight in is one “Voted on and Declared by Congress” or at the Borders.
We always get suckered. But not this time. I would advise those in the military to get out. They are pawns in a game we will never understand. Pay others to fight, because the job is not worth it. It hasn’t been worth it since 1945.
