Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis released a new digital ad Sunday night rallying conservatives to fight for freedom ahead of a potential 2024 presidential run.
“When the world lost its mind… when common sense suddenly became an uncommon virtue… Florida was a refuge of sanity, a citadel of freedom for our fellow Americans and even for people around the world,” DeSantis said in the nearly two-minute video.
The ad features numerous major figures at Fox News — including Laura Ingraham, Jesse Watters, Dana Perino, and Lisa Boothe — touting DeSantis’ repeated successes while serving as the governor of Florida.
“Florida’s success has been made more difficult by the floundering federal establishment in Washington, DC., an inflationary spending binge that has left our nation weaker and our citizens poorer,” DeSantis says later in the video. “It has enacted pandemic restrictions and mandates. It has recklessly facilitated open borders. It has imposed an energy policy that has crippled our nation’s domestic production. This has caused many to be pessimistic about the country’s future. Some even say that failure is inevitable. Florida is proof positive that we the people are not destined for failure.”
DeSantis continues by highlighting the wins that his administration has secured in the state, including becoming the fastest growing state in the country, ranking #1 in education freedom, ranking #1 in economic freedom, and ranking #1 in higher public education.
“Decline is a choice. Success is attainable,” DeSantis concludes. “And freedom is worth fighting for.”

The audacity of this nonsense has completely destroyed his credibility.
He was one of the first to realize the official directives were wrong and changed course. Far better than Trump who did nothing about Fauci and others despite the complete LIES about masking, distancing and lockdowns being exposed by the scientific community.
Since when do newscasters publicly support candidates that they are supposed to be reporting on? Never liked any of those named as they are not very bright, but now it’s apparent that they are without principles as well. Total phonies, just like Ron.

Wrong. Trump ran a country, not a state. Trump tried to pill power away from Fauci, et al, when it became clear they were never going to end the lockdowns. Trump did not think the extended lockdowns were good so pushed to open by making it clear that Governors and their states had the power to do so and that is what happened. I liked RDS but it has become very clear in the last 6 months that he is a Deep State snake. I see now why Trump is upset—RDS did back stab him, just like he will do to us if he gets into office.
He did originally because the PRESIDENT SHUT DOWN THE WHOLE COUNTRY!! Then he WISED UP!

Sorry, but the Great Barrington Declaration put a LIE to all the Covid restrictions in October 2020. Trump should have fired Fauci straight away.
But Trump thought it might hurt his re-election chances, so he did nothing and let the nation suffer.
With regard to DeSantis. You call him a back-stabber, but he delivered Florida for Trump in 2020 and paid back his debt to Trump. He owes Trump NOTHING.

The elites think that Fox News tells us how to vote. Hahaha. How many viewers did Fox News lose with their “election” coverage of 2020?
There was no real harm in treating this like a pandemic at the start. Nothing was truly known about the disease, and that included origins. If it WAS really Chinese deliberation, possibly even more dangerous than the average virus.
The problem became that the gov and the liberal people became addicted to the power and fear, respectively. (Once again, notice how libs always live on fear of possible danger and legislate that it IS markedly so - helmets, seatbelts, etc.)
DeSantis did what was prudent, then opened things up again when it seemed silly - which is what the feds promised us - “2 weeks to flatten the curve”.

Georgia was the first state to open back up when Kemp saw the shutdown scam that it was. Even Trump questioned the decision Kemp was making.
Kemp ignored him and rightly so.
