Iran could now produce “one bomb’s worth of fissile material” in “about 12 days,” a top US Defense Department official said Tuesday.
Under Secretary of Defense for Policy Colin Kahl offered one of the most striking US government assessments to date of Iran’s “breakout time” as efforts to try to restore the Iran nuclear agreement remain halted and Tehran continues to breach the restrictions set out by the deal.
Kahl said that “Iran’s nuclear progress since” the Trump administration withdrew the United States from the 2015 nuclear deal “has been remarkable.”
“Back in 2018, when the previous administration decided to leave the JCPOA, it would have taken Iran about 12 months to produce one fissile, one bomb’s worth of fissile material,” Kahl said at a House Armed Services Committee hearing, using the acronym for the formal name of the deal: the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action.
“Now it would take about 12 days,” he said.

I recall joking in college with a friend back in the 1980s: what will we do when Iran gets the bomb in 2010. I guess I was overestimating their capabilities.

What an idiot. Iran wasn’t allowing inspections as agreed. Nothing changed at all under the supposed “deal”. They’re exactly where they would have been with or without the deal, except the pallets of money kept the regime’s head above water longer, and they were able to finance more international terrorism.
Saddam Hussein’s Iraq was an effective counterbalance to Iran. Then Bush II did Iran a huge favor by removing Saddam.
So let’s not forget Bush the Stupid’s role in all this.
If so then in 13 days Iran will nuke Israel
Or - MORE LIKELY - within the next 11 days Israel will take direct action to destroy the facility.
But, hey, we can send Kamala over there to negotiate the peace deal! She can laugh her way through the talks.

As long as we maintained a modest presence in Iraq (which was finally going well and which the Iraqi gov’t supported, they just didn’t want a token force that still PO’d some of the radicals) and a modest force in Afghanistan (which went very well under Trump), we had Iran in a vise. But Obummer screwed the pooch in Iraq, and then Trump’s policy to leave Afghanistan but with enough force in the region to scorch the Taliban if they misbehaved sort of made the most sense.
Iran and Iraq at war kept the world relatively safe
Perhaps there will be a glitch that causes a pause in their progress.
Which they will blame on Israel.
If they try, their nuke will
most likely blow up in their faces.
God will not let Israel be destroyed.
