Two women who got into a fight with an airline employee were arrested on Tuesday.

A Pennsylvania man was arrested after attempting to bring an explosive device on a flight on Feb. 27.

Marc Muffley, 40, was arrested by FBI agents on Monday night after he allegedly attempted to bring an explosive device onto an Allegiant Airlines flight from Lehigh Valley International Airport headed to Orlando Sanford International Airport on Feb. 27.

After staff with Allegiant Airlines checked Muffley's bag, TSA agents were alerted to the "presence of suspicious items," an affidavit states.

When TSA agents physically inspected the bag, a "circular compound, approximately three inches in diameter, wrapped in a wax-like paper and clear plastic wrap hidden in the lining of the baggage" was located, according to court records.

Sounds like much larger with a trigger tapped to batteries and a fuse attached.

The bag also allegedly contained “a can of butane, a lighter, a pipe with white powder residue, a wireless drill with cordless batteries, and two GFCI outlets taped together with black tape.”

One of the FBI agents also observed that a “quick fuse” and a “hobby fuse” was attached to the object, adding that a hobby fuse burns slower than a quick fuse.

Why are we still taking our shoes and belts off at the airport?

TSA needs to be shuttered. They are worthless parasites.

In this case, they caught the IED in the luggage. They paged the perp, saw him leaving the airport, and apprehended him.

Your description of worthless, in this case, is inaccurate.

It was a mostly peaceful explosive device.

Any legitimate national Government would have that person tried immediately, and following a guilty verdict would have him summarily executed. And no testimony regarding “motive” would be admissible at trial, and no appeal of the verdict would be permitted.

No, they did not.

After staff with Allegiant Airlines checked Muffley's bag, TSA agents were alerted to the "presence of suspicious items," an affidavit states.

In other words the check in clerk, who gets paid much less then Thousands Standing Around caught it.

Oh and no, they did not "apprehended him". That was the FBI.

At his house.

TSA could not even manage to find him in the airport.

“Why are we still taking our shoes and belts off at the airport?”

Because the sheeple allow it to feel “safe”.

“TSA needs to be shuttered. They are worthless parasites.”

Agreed.

There are very large holes in this story. As a frequent traveler, I don’t see airline employees inspecting luggage. Did the Allegiant staff “check” the bag, or “check-in” the bag? In fact, at some airports, once you check-in your luggage with the airline, you haul your luggage over to the TSA explosive checkers yourself.

As a frequent flyer who does not need to remove my shoes before boarding, I can see you have a bee in your bonnet about TSA. Must be a tough life for you.

‘Because the sheeple allow it to feel “safe”.’

Bingo. The “airport security shuffle” is the spiritual precursor to the useless face mask totems of the COVID panic.

To be fair TSA agents are not LEOs. They have no arrest authority. That is why there are always state and local cops within shouting distance.

TSA got to do whatever is necessary to assure safe travel. Yes, I’ve had to take off my shoes before and thought it was no big deal. It’s all about training for the agents. IMHO

Apparently the bag was checked, left and there was some sort of electronic alarm which alerted the check in clerk who called the TSA.

I suppose to be strictly honest it is possible the TSA would have found it on their own, but they did not.

All the stories from various media outlets seems to be trying to give the credit to the TSA but no one can seem to say exactly what they did beyond respond to the clerk's alert and to page the guy to report to the security desk. Which alerted him to leave the airport. Which he did with out any problem.

I just don't see where the TSA was actually useful in this case.

It’s all about continued conditioning and control. The government loves to infect pain and incomvenience on it’s citizens. Makes flu related mandates that much more easy to administer.

“I don’t see airline employees inspecting luggage”

If you doubt that they do, just put a wad of cash in your luggage before you check it, and see if it’s still there when you get your bags back.
