I know by experience that TSA training and procedures have improved over the years. They aren't perfect, but they are better than 15 years ago.

You fly all the time according to you and you did not know about the alarms? In fact these alarms are not at all new. They check for explosive residue. There are other alarms that check for radiation. Did you know about them?
