Cruz, Pence, Sununu make their cases to top GOP donors at a major 2024 cattle call
[cut]
Asked if he’ll stay take sides and back a candidate in the GOP presidential primaries, Cruz told Fox News "they’ll be plenty of time for that. I suspect we’ll have several more people get in the race and I’m confident it will be wild and wooly. I suspect they’ll be some insults, some nicknames."
Former Vice President Mike Pence, who’s seriously mulling a White House run, also addressed the donors on Friday.
"Republicans and conservatives cannot abandon our commitment to fiscal responsibility and reform and that includes commonsense reforms to Social Security and Medicare," Pence emphasized to crowd.
Pointing to nation’s exploding national debt and to the recent birth of two granddaughters, the former vice president stressed that "I can’t walk by the debt crisis our nation’s facing and neither can you."
And he warned that "if we kick the can down the road…if we wait 25 years to deal with this issue, until this mountain of debt becomes a mountain range of debt, all of our choices will be bad. We can reform Social Security today in ways that don’t touch current retirees or anyone who will retire in the next 20 years."
The former vice president touted Trump-Pence administration accomplishments but reiterated that when it comes to his former running mate, "different times call for different leadership … I know the Republican voters across the country are going to choose the right leader at the right time and we’re going to win the day in 2024."
New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu, who’s become a vocal Trump critic in recent years, called the former president "the orange haired elephant in the room."

Update from the Club for Growth Club Meeting.
If Trump can't win, then you really can't.

Agree.
Can’t watch the debt grow but spare no expense for Ukraine. Pass
Lyn’ Ted preparing to run in 2024?!
Okay, so he says senate, but note that he has once again stiffed Trump, refusing to back him even though Trump saved his sorry a55 when he ran for senate re-election.

I think being in the US Senate is beyond the capability of Cruz, as he demonstrated by flying to Mexico during our deep freeze and his spectacle at the 2016 Convention. If he has a decent conservative Primary opponent, then that opponent gets my vote as I don’t think Cruz can win again in Texas.
This is where DeSantis was.
Sigh - maybe the “principled” thing would be to lose the seat...riiiight?
Well maybe Cruz would have an easier time if he wasn’t such a sleaze and also if he wasn’t complicit in blowing up the Nordstream. Words matter Ted.
This is nothing more than an eGOP orgy festival.
Cruz is vastly superior to John Cornyn.
He is the most effectively conservative senator in the U.S. senate.
Conservative 98: Glad to see someone here gets it ! Cruz is the most Conservative outspoken Senator and is fighting for Conservative principles while Cornyn cowers. To those who criticize his trip with family during a grid failure in Texas - get real! This issue was a State Issue not a Federal Issue (unless you all believe in big daddy Federal intervention in purely State issues.). If you believe that, you are no Conservative. Cruz did take the candidacy of Texas’ Harold Stassen, aka Robert (the fake Hispanic) O’Rourke too lightly and I’m pretty sure that won’t happen again. My wish for Texas is to send Cornyn home and get another real Conservative to become the Jr. Senator from the Lone Star State ASAP.
Sometimes losing a seat for an election cycle is a better choice. Personally, the sooner that Lyn’ Ted is out of office and gone, the better for the republican party. Why I have chosen to no longer support Trump, I’m dumbfounded to see him constantly undermine Trump and refuse to support him even after getting his support every time he needed it. What a lack of loyalty.
