President Donald Trump is gaining support from Republican voters and widening his lead over potential 2024 candidate Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida, according to four new polls.
Trump received 55% of the hypothetical 2024 GOP primary vote, more than twice that of DeSantis, who received 25%, according to an Emerson College poll released Tuesday. A poll from Emerson last month showed that Trump led DeSantis 55%-29%.
The latest Emerson poll also showed that Trump would beat President Joe Biden in the 2024 general election at 46% to 42%. DeSantis would lose to Biden by 4%.

When Trump runs as an independent after he loses the Republican nomination, all this will go away... Sadly, the country will be run by a Democrat until 2028 and that will result in more costly fiscal policies and a more dangerous world, but at least the Trump era will be officially over.

I am leaning that way myself. DeSantis is getting support from the establishment Republicans and that is not the way to get my vote. President Trump on the other hand has the establishment Republicans against him. That is the way to get my vote.
So if Jeb supports him, that makes DeSantis a trojan horse?? Well, Trump supported him. That puts Trump in the same box with Jeb.

Brought to you by the GOPE completely. Trump is a response to their arrogance, lies and treatment of their base. And the base is even more angry now at the GOPE and many will not return at this point. The establishment slapped their base one too many times, told them to put some ice on it and go to hell. Now the base is like you first!
And you are right the country is going to pay with Democrats winning elections because even the GOP base knows the GOP candidates are full of sh&t and lies and they think they are going to get all the MAGA votes just because they are not Democrats. How did that work out for them in 2022?
The best thing DeSantis could do is if he runs, ignore the entire GOPE establishments comments and money. Run on his record and when he debates Trump don’t engage in personal attacks back at Trump. How he treats Trump will determine what Trump does if DeSantis should win the nomination. If he’s treated Trump with respect there’s a good chance he endorses DeSantis and helps his campaign. If he listens to the GOPE SFB’s you can hang another L on the wall and Trump will peel off enough conservatives votes to ensure the GOP is never a viable political party in presidential elections again.
All this being said still ignores the 800 lbs gorilla in the room which is Democrats are stealing elections by fraud and the GOP just sits there batting their eyes like a frog in a hail storm going is there something amiss?
You can go back to voting for the same corrupt lifer professional politicians. BTW, now that there's upwards of 40 million illegals in country, and being in debt nearly a zillion effing dollars, how's all that worked out for ya in the past 40 years slick?

While the Bush Family is opposed to MAGA policies, they are more offended by the personality of Trump. This has become personal with them. IMO, they would support a strong MAGA candidate if it would derail Trump. Wouldn't be their first choice but anything would be better than Trump in their minds. I wouldn't read too much into their support of DeSantis - the Bush Family will ride whatever horse they think has the best choice of denying Trump the nomination.
