The fall of the Alamo-and the torching/abuse of the dead defenders, who died honorably in battle-it is considered a cowardly and dishonorably act to treat an enemy’s remains with disdain-spurred the Texans into a fury that ended with them winning the Battle of San Jacinto on April 21, 1936, and gaining independence-so I can’t think of a better day to do this-my Come and Take It battle flag is on my gate, right next to the Texas flag and it will stay there till after San Jacinto Day...
