Teachers protest over suspected Iran schoolgirl poisonings
Iranian teachers held protests in several cities on Tuesday over suspected poisonings targeting hundreds of schoolgirls. Security forces broke up several of the demonstrations using water cannons and tear gas, activists said.
Meanwhile, prosecutors started filing criminal charges against journalists, activists and others over their comments on the still-unsolved incidents that began in November and escalated in recent days, with dozens of schools reporting suspected cases.

Most likely some Islamic fundamentalist types who think girls should not be educated. And American Feminists are OK with it because they share a common hatred of traditional Judeo-Chirstian American values.
This is awful.
I am reminded of how many countries there are that continue to openly devalue their adult women and their female children. India, Pakistan, China and Nigeria are but a few where a boy’s birth is celebrated but a girl’s birth is often just “tolerated” by the father.
In America we have the opposite problem of people trying to correct the past. So often it is boys who are ignored or deliberately shut out from getting attention.
Iran certainly took their time treating this as a crime of serial murder.
Interesting: “arrests” appears in the headline and the first sentence; but nowhere in the bulk of the article are these “arrests” detailed.
I’m thinking they announced “arrests” (some minister of justice, I think); but any such arrests were probably nabbing “enemies of the state” under the pretext.
That makes sense to me, as I can only believe that the state itself is behind these poisonings.
