On February 22, 2023, the South Carolina House passed a Constitutional Carry bill with 75% of the votes, 90 to 30. Constitutional or “permitless” Carry is when a state does not require a permit to carry loaded handguns, openly or concealed, for most adults in most public places, a close approximation of the state of the law when the Second Amendment was ratified in 1791. The Republican-controlled South Carolina House voted overwhelmingly Wednesday to allow lawful firearm owners to carry handguns openly or concealed without a state permit.
The 90-30 vote brings the conservative state one step closer to joining 25 others with some form of so-called “constitutional carry” laws. The fate of the state’s latest effort to loosen gun restrictions once more falls to the Senate, where lawmakers rejected a similar proposal two years
ago.
The South Carolina bill for Constitutional (permitless) Carry is H 3594. The ALL CAPS format is how the bill is formatted at the South Carolina legislature site. From H 3594:

Constitutional Carry bills have been passed in the House, but they die in the Senate.
That state is messed up. Within an inch of being beyond repair.

Hartpootlian who lost his case on Murdough in the courts is now retrying his case on the Senate floor by castigating the Judge that this very Senate appointed and approved. The Democrat machine is a nasty sausage grinder.
Moved to SC to escape Pennsylvania. Looks like they’ve got a bunch of RINOs in the Senate here who do like most RINOs in the US Senate. They talk the good game, but are Democrats at heart.
Not holding my breath. I just applied for renewal of my CCP.
The Sheriff's office of Westmoreland County in PA sends out notices to current CCP holders that their permits is about to expire {within 6 weeks} and all of the necessary paper work for another 5 year renewal.
On Monday I went the the Court House with the one page form and $20 and was in at 8:35 AM and back on my way home at 9:05 AM with my new 5 year CCP.
The Sheriff encourages all law abiding citizens of Westmoreland County to get a permit and carry {with proper gun safety instruction}.
As I was leaving the Sheriff's office, there were 4 women coming in to get their new permits.
I am thrilled to see more women getting and carrying guns.
That’s real good.
My CCP expires in Oct. I always reapply online 6 months before. Last time it took 90 days to get my new card.
It's a good idea to have your concealed carry license just for the reciprocity with other states you might go to.

Compared to liberal utopias like New York and California, South Carolina is a paradise.

What is happening in SC? I always felt so safe when I lived in South Carolina!!
As a Conservative living here for 20 years, your statement certainly seems true. I purposely chose SC over other states because of the politics. Bear in mind that was 20 years ago and the politics have changed somewhat. If I had to do it today I'd choose Florida.
Yankees moving down here and turning it into South New York.
Every now and then a cloudy day is needed just for the change.
Those Rino’s are not gonna let blacks just start carrying a gun around without their permission!
