This makes sense if the goal is to create a government where decisions and policies are made by career bureaucrats, and elected officials are mere figureheads.

This kind of crap used to be illegal in the government FOR A REASON. Then the Dung Beetles did away with that law as an election gift to their retarded union thug friends and voters.

What happens when the senator retires or gets voted out?
If a senator gets voted out, do the staff of that senator remain for the next senator? Same question if the senator retires.
There should never be unionized jobs in a member of congress’ office.
If a senator gets ‘fired’ are all of his or her staff also fired?

It doesn’t matter if the staff unionizes because when Markey leaves office then they go too.

“...right to organize, a fundamental exercise in democracy,”
I wasn’t aware that organizing a union was a fundamental exercise in democracy. Odd that the Constitution is silent on the subject.

How many employees does he have??? How many are paid by the Senate and how many by his office?? The remainder of the Senate should fight that unionization.
