Europe has been all territorial disputes all the time since the collapse of the Roman empire.
That's true, but much more relevant is the bloodbath that ensued (and which continues) after Woodrow Wilson decided he know better than the Gods of History about how the Russian, German, Austro-Hungarian and Ottoman empires should be broken up and how the pieces should be governed.
If he had done a Fetterman before Versailles, 100 million European lives would have been saved and the world, especially the Middle East, would be much more peaceful than it is, even today.
Except for the Giants and the Dodgers moving to California, Wilson at Versailles was the worst thing to happen in the bloody XX Century.
